When Should You Power Wash a House in New Jersey?

Two booking windows fill first every year, a late spring moves the whole calendar, and fall is when window cleaning earns its place on the job.

Timing matters more than most homeowners expect, and in New Jersey it is driven almost entirely by the weather.

Nick Berezansky owns Central Jersey Exterior Cleaning Services, which soft washes houses and roofs and powerwashes driveways, walkways and patios for homeowners across Somerset, Hunterdon and Middlesex counties. He books against two seasons a year, and both fill faster than people expect.

"We are busy from mid-March up to Memorial Day. That's typically the New Jersey rush for property washing," he says. "It's that great time of year to wash away old man winter's grime and get your property reset for the summer season."

The second stretch comes later in the year. "We also have a second push, typically from September to November, getting properties either re-washed or washed after a long summer season for an end-of-year reset, so you have a clean, welcoming home for the holiday season," he explains.

That fall window is also the right time to add window cleaning to the job. It gives a house "that extra detailed service for a clean viewing experience while you're looking for the warmth of the sun during old man winter's wrath."

Spring timing is not fixed. A late spring can move the entire booking window. "If we have a late spring like we did this year, that washing window will slide from Memorial Day into almost the Fourth of July," Nick says. Spring 2026 was the example: alternating rain and dry spells let pollen build up and then get rained back down, over and over. "That extended the season, as well as the cooler temps."

The takeaway for Bridgewater homeowners: if you want a spring wash done early, book before mid-March. If you are after a fall reset, September is the month to call, before the second rush fills the calendar.
