White sand beaches, clear blue gulf waters and resort-style living come to mind when thinking about our hometown of Naples. The city may be far from New York and Paris in travel miles, but Naples is now firmly rooted on the fashion map with Naples Fashion Week.
Founder Beth Catizone says, “With more than 25 annual charity fashion shows already being fully supported, it was clear the town was ready for our own fashion week. Naples offers an abundance of high-end stores and custom clothier options. Many carry exclusive brands of clothing and shoes, curated by our local retailers and designers from all over the world.”
Beth enjoyed a successful singing career and produced award-winning shows before launching Infinite Recording Studios, a production company that she manages with her husband. Her passion for events that not only share her love of fashion, but also help support the community as well, led her to create The Naples Fashion Week Foundation. She says, “My greatest strength is the ability to connect with like-minded individuals whose aesthetic and passion resonates with my sense of style and purpose. The Naples Fashion Week Foundation is a collective of people who share that vision. Together we will continue to create a fashion week in Naples that hosts unforgettable fundraising events to benefit non-profit organizations that help men, women, and children who have been abused, neglected or are otherwise in need. This year, we are working with Youth Haven of Southwest Florida. At the end of the day, supporting each other is of the most importance.”
“Springtime in Naples calls for soft comfortable dresses and loose tops from all my favorite Naples boutiques,” says Beth. “I always top off the look with a fashionable yet functional hat for sun protection. For chillier evenings, I love a cashmere wrap or cardigan, light palazzo pants, and booties. Each local boutique takes great care in selecting and displaying each piece. Most shop owners live and work here and have an artistic eye for truly rare and luxury items.”
Naples Style: According to Beth
Understated elegance with authenticity. Tradition meets modern details. High-quality fabrics and natural breathable materials including silks, linen, cotton, cashmere, leather and suede. With our environment, coastal chic is the inspiration, luxury is desired, and relaxed ease and comfort are a priority. Class meets just a little sass.
