Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Rhode Island until 3rd grade and then moved to Milwaukee for the rest of my childhood. The minute I graduated high school, I moved to Crested Butte to follow my dreams of bussing tables and snowboarding every single day.

What brings you the most joy in your craft?
Designing and building amazing remodels and new homes is hard. There are plenty of emotions and decisions to be made, but we try to make it as easy as possible. There can be some bumps in the road, but at the end of the project we often throw a big party at the house, and there is nothing more rewarding than just sitting back to enjoy the new space. Clients invite their neighbors, friends and family, and I get to watch them gush about the project. It is impossible not to get a little teary eyed thinking of the first time you met at their house to discuss the project compared to where you ended up.

What do you do for fun in Boulder?                                      I love everything about Boulder. It is hard to beat bringing the family to Pearl Street to play and eat dinner. We usually end up at the new park at the Boulder Library, which is so well-designed.

What’s your favorite quote?
“Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you're right.”

– Henry Ford

Most treasured item?
I should probably say something sentimental like my wedding ring, but I’ve lost that three times now and finally learned that I should just buy $20 rings. I guess I will say my powder board (Lib Tech Skunk Ape) as it sure gives me a lot of joy.

Favorite food?
Chimera down on Pearl Street. Start with the mala wings (it has this spice that numbs your tongue) and pair it with some prosecco, bubbles or the sour rosé (brings your tongue back to life). Follow it up with the lobster ramen. It is absolutely amazing.

Do you collect anything?
Vintage snowboards. I have a bunch of old collectible boards, and even when I was a broke college student, I would spend money on a rare board instead of eating.

Your childhood crush?
Duh … Alyssa Milano … like every guy my age!
