Why is my dental health important?

Your mouth is an important window into the health of your body.  Believe it or not,  with the proper training your dentist can see signs of many health conditions.  Diabetes, auto-immune disorders, sleep related breathing disorders(like sleep apnea), and even cancer!  Finding these things early can make a big difference in complications and treatment.

Fillings and cleanings are important to maintain health for many reasons.  Did you know that some oncologists require a dental professional to sign off before beginning cancer treatments?  Regular appointments can protect your health and save valuable time when a diagnosis is made.

Your teeth also contribute to self confidence.  Many people are afraid to smile and show teeth that are broken, missing or stained.  This can keep them from asking for promotions or applying for jobs where they would be in contact with the public.  Sometimes they even avoid dating or friends without a front tooth causing isolation and depression.
