Willie’s Wildcat Crunch
Makes about 10–12 cups
Ingredients
- 8 cups freshly popped Jolly Time White Popcorn
- 2 cups General Mills Rice Chex.
- 1½ cups Hy-Vee Tiny Twists Pretzels.
- ¾ cup Hy-Vee Creamy White Vanilla Baking Chips.
- ½–¾ cup purple M&M’s
- Wilton Sanding Sugar, purple or white, to taste.
- Optional: white sprinkles or additional purple-and-white decorating sprinkles
Directions
1. Visit Manhattan Hy-Vee to gather supplies
2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
3. In a large bowl, gently combine the popcorn, Rice Chex and pretzels.
4. Melt the white vanilla baking chips in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth.
5. Drizzle the melted white coating over the popcorn mixture. You don't need to completely coat everything. Keep the drizzle fairly light, so it remains more of a crunchy snack than a heavy candy mix.
6. While the drizzle is still warm, sprinkle generously with white or purple sanding sugar.
7. Add the purple M&M’s and gently toss or scatter them throughout.
8. Let the mixture sit for about 20–30 minutes, until the drizzle has completely set. Break into pieces and serve in a big bowl, individual cups or little purple treat bags.
9. EMAW! Go Cats!
