Scaling Slowly and Intentionally, Willow Home is Shaking up the Home Improvement Industry

Laughing around a kitchen island, Boulder has yet to see a group more gracious in the home of a new friend. The passion of the Willow Home crew is palpable. A small, scrappy team made up of 3 go-getters share one goal in mind: to give Boulder homeowners their time back, and build deep relationships as they trust them with the ins and outs of their homes.

Growing up in New England where his father worked as a carpenter, Willow Home founder Nick Karas saw firsthand the stress his dad and homeowners go through from all jobs, big to small. "It opened my eyes," Nick remembers.

After studying architecture and business while watching other industries continue to innovate, Nick saw that nothing was happening in the home improvement space. “Why is it that your toaster oven comes with a longer user manual than your home? One of our most valuable assets is one we often know the least about.” He identified a niche yet relevant need for a home concierge in Boulder. Enter: Willow, and their unique process.

Willow Home acts as a single point of contact, high end home concierge to alleviate homeowners the stress of all things home management. Not to be confused with a “handyman” service, the subscription based company is backed by home technology and use custom home dashboards for every client they service. Ranging from things like the make and model of appliances, water systems, down to serial numbers, Willow wants to know it all, to guarantee effective problem solving in homes as well as above and beyond care.

Their focus on hospitality, innovation and relevance is what helps Boulder homeowners recognize what needs to be done, and get it done right; the first time.

“Our team is unique. We give a damn”, says Nick. “We care deeply about our clients, their needs and how we can best show up for them and their home.” The team, consisting of Nick and home concierges Anna Thexton and Michael Kettler, bring a special set of experiences ranging from general contracting, property management, and customer service.

Testimony:

“I hope you don't get tired of me saying it but we're so grateful for all you and your team does! Jill and I talk quite a bit about how impossible it would have been to do all this work on the house without you and WillowHome. So thank you again!”

Building relationships with vendors stands as one of the most important things the Willow team does. They have years of experience to back their decisions in identifying the best trades, build strong relationships with them and guarantee that they’re up to Willow Home standards.

“We want to work with the best of the best, and when things go wrong, we’re all here to make it right.”

They know what you might be thinking: “Yes it's a new concept," Nick acknowledges. "It's been proven in Boulder to provide a ton of value to high value clients. At every touch point, we're there to make it special." Their service has spread mainly through word of mouth, whether it be from neighbors, vendors, or high end Boulder realtors, some of which are included in their clientele.

At the heart of Willow is their magnetic and dynamic team that loves Colorado, and their local community. “We want to create a new standard of home care and raise the tides for all vendors by leading by example”, Nick expresses. For now, they’re focused on growing intentionally, delivering a ton of value, and continuing to nurture the Boulder community and the people in it.

“Boulder is unique, it’s filled with beautiful homes and intelligent people who have worked hard to be successful, and live to experience life without becoming a servant to their home. They want autonomy of their time, and we help give it to them.”
