Apple of My Pie

A simple recipe for everyone's favorite apple pie

Ingredients

3/4 cup of brown sugar

1/4 cup of flour

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Pinch of nutmeg

7 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honey Crisp)

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

3 tablespoons of butter, cubed

2 pie crusts (homemade or store bought)

Egg wash for brushing crust

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg together. Place apples (sliced) in a large mixing bowl and toss with dry ingredients. Press pie crust into a 9 inch pie pan and fill with apple mixture. Drizzle lemon juice over apples and sprinkle butter cubes on top. Lattice the top crust or leave as a whole and place over entire pie. Make a slit if this option is used for pie to vent. Press edges to seal. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes and let cool.
