Winter Wonderlands

December Wanderlust; Dreamy Holiday Destinations

December is a season that evokes feelings of warmth, joyful childhood wonder, and cherished family traditions. Simple moments at home—enjoying a warm cup of hot cocoa by the fire, baking Christmas cookies, or watching a favorite holiday movie—mean time spent with loved ones taking in the splendor of the season. December is also a wonderful time to travel, and dreamy winter destinations can truly capture the magic of the holidays. For those seeking to create their own winter story, here are some exceptional winter destinations:

New York City—Iconic Christmas

From the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall, to ice skating in Central Park below the city skyline, to marveling at the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, NYC is calling you this winter. Storefronts are dressed in their holiday best and chestnuts are roasting on street corners, conjuring the magic of the season. Wander through Bryant Park’s Christmas Village, where artisans offer unique gifts, and sip seasonal beverages like eggnog while viewing Christmas lights from a rooftop lounge.

Quebec—A Dreamy, Wintery Jewel Box

The quaint streets of the French-Canadian city transform into a French fairytale illuminated by twinkle lights and sparkling stars. Begin at the traditional German Christmas market in Old Quebec City, where you can sip glühwein and shop. From there, stroll over to the historic Quartier du Petit Champlain, which looks like a dreamy holiday village with its charming boutiques and cobblestone streets. Take in the Christmas tree at the picturesque Place Royale. For the more adventurous, enjoy snow tubing and ice skating in town before finishing your day with a delicious French-inspired dish and a Bûche de Noël for dessert.

Vancouver and Whistler—Pacific Northwest Charm

Begin your journey in Vancouver and enjoy the best of the holidays in this world-class city that features classics like the Stanley Park Christmas Train, the Festival of Lights at VanDusen, a Christmas ship parade, and a traditional European Christmas market. Travel farther north and arrive in Whistler, where winter adventures abound in a charming pedestrian ski village. Grab a smoked Old Fashioned après ski by a crackling fire in the lively base village.

Beaver Creek—Luxury Ski Destination

Colorado has many fabulous skiing destinations, but the Beaver Creek experience is something special. This stunning ski town, nestled high in the mountains just west of Vail, has all the winter magic in a small-town setting. This village seamlessly blends luxury with adventure, offering expert ski trails as well as snowshoeing, ice skating, snow tubing, and dogsledding. Delight in a warm cup of hot cocoa as you hear the jingle bells and watch the snowflakes fall on your evening sleigh ride.

We wish you a very merry holiday season and a happy 2025! May you create unforgettable memories this winter.
