Roswell High’s O.S.C.A.R. Robotics Team Builds Success

Roswell High School’s robotics team, better known as O.S.C.A.R. – Outstanding Students Creating Awesome Robots – is proud to be the oldest FIRST Robotics team in Georgia. Since 2002, O.S.C.A.R. has been a fully student-led organization where members design, build, program, and drive their own competition robots.

Each season, students have just six weeks to turn their ideas into a fully functioning robot capable of taking on complex challenges. This year, after competing in two Qualifying Competitions, O.S.C.A.R. advanced to the District Championship — one of the highest levels of competition in the state, just below the World Championship in Houston, Texas.

“We’re so proud of how far we’ve come this season,” says Sydney Keifer, President of O.S.C.A.R. Robotics. “Every decision, every design — it’s all led by students. It’s amazing to see what we can accomplish together.”

Representing Roswell High at the District Championship was a major achievement for the team, showcasing not just technical skills but also leadership, teamwork, and innovation. O.S.C.A.R. Robotics is incredibly grateful for the support of the school, the community, and sponsors who continue to invest in the next generation of engineers, programmers, and leaders.
