Women of Influence

Inspiring Community Impact

In our vibrant community of Lakewood Ranch, countless women have left their marks through their dedication, leadership, and compassion. This month, we're thrilled to shine a spotlight on women who've been nominated for their remarkable influence and positive impact on those around them and the wider community. As we announce "The Woman of Influence" at our upcoming women's event, let's celebrate these four incredible women whose stories inspire and encourage us to make a difference. Each embodies the spirit of Lakewood Ranch through their achievements, community service, and the empowerment of others.

Shari Nastri, once a litigation attorney, transformed her passion for fitness into a thriving community cornerstone by opening Jazzercise Lakewood Ranch in 2023. Committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment, Shari's studio welcomes women of all ages and fitness levels to connect through dynamic, enjoyable workouts. Beyond her studio, she actively contributes to the community, hosting fundraisers for causes like breast cancer awareness and supporting local charities, truly embodying the spirit of empowerment and positive change.

Laura Swaim's journey from a Canadian small town to Lakewood Ranch (LWR) illuminates a story of resilience, care, and visionary ambition. Married with two daughters and honoring a son's memory, Laura co-founded Jack's Legacy Inc., transforming grief into a beacon of hope for parents navigating loss. This endeavor complements her role alongside her husband at The Roots Health Centers, PLLC, where she specializes in prenatal and pediatric chiropractic care, embodying the blend of professional expertise and personal compassion. Laura's work is a testament to her belief in nurturing connection, health, and wellness within the community, aiming to create a supportive environment for families to thrive. As she balances motherhood with her passion for chiropractic care, Laura's faith guides her, serving as a steadfast anchor in her journey and inspiring those around her to embrace hope and healing.

Dr. Rose Le, originally from Boston, found her calling in Lakewood Ranch in 2020. As the owner of Rose Dental, she's not just a dentist, but a beacon of empowerment and support. Married to Dr. Steve Ta, she champions empathy and compassion in her practice, inspired by her beloved high school teacher, Mrs. Karen Kissel. Dr. Le's vision extends beyond dentistry; she dreams of preserving the essence of private practice and mentoring aspiring dentists. With 18 years as a licensed nail technician, she epitomizes resilience, humility, and dedication to continual self-improvement, embodying the spirit of inspiration and growth. Committed to her community, Dr. Le actively supports local charities and mentors young professionals, ensuring a brighter future for all.

Theresa Chestnut has called Lakewood Ranch home for over 15 years and lived in Sarasota her whole life. Her family is her rock; her husband, an unwavering support, and her children, her greatest joy. Actively involved in the community, Theresa serves on boards like the Realtors Association and Carnegie and Chestnut Foundation, providing vital support to those in need. As the owner of Carnegie & Chestnut Associates, she's venturing into the tech world to revolutionize real estate. Being a woman empowers her to advocate for equality and inspire others. Her godmother Judy epitomizes kindness, shaping her aspirations. Theresa's dream for Lakewood Ranch? Sustained beauty and a strong community bond. Theresa is a beautiful example to women old and young.
