Across North Texas, Women in Need (WIN) stands as a lifeline for individuals and families affected by domestic violence. Serving Hunt, Rains, and Rockwall counties, the nonprofit provides crisis intervention, emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and community education offering survivors the resources, support, and hope they need
to rebuild safe, independent lives.
Every year, WIN serves hundreds of local clients, many of whom arrive with little more than courage and a will to survive. Behind every statistic is a mother, daughter, son, employee, brother, or friend. Abuse does not discriminate, and each number represents a person seeking safety, a child learning to trust again, and a community coming together to say “enough.”
Beyond crisis response, WIN is deeply embedded in prevention and awareness. Through outreach programs, school presentations, and community partnerships, WIN equips citizens to recognize the signs of abuse and respond with compassion and action. Its mission extends beyond the walls of the shelter—it’s about creating a culture where love is safe, homes are peaceful, and voices are heard.
There are countless ways for community members to stand alongside WIN in this mission. Individuals, businesses, and civic groups can give financially, sponsor annual fundraisers, or shop with purpose at My Sister’s Closet resale stores in Greenville, Quinlan, and Commerce. Donations of household goods are welcomed at WIN’s Rockwall Donation Center. Those who wish to give their time or talents can join
HEARTS of WIN (Helping Empower and Responding Through Service), the organization’s growing volunteer program dedicated to compassionate community engagement.
Together, we can break the silence and build a future free from violence.
