Jazlyn, “Jazz,” Muzio owns Arizona Pristine Roofing Company, alongside her husband, Chris. While this company is still in the “young” stage (the company started in 2020), Arizona Pristine Roofing has already impacted the community. Jazz was voted a Top Entrepreneur on the Rise in 2023. Arizona Pristine Roofing was a finalist for the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics in 2023.
Jazz wasn’t always the entrepreneur and roofer she is today. She started in the medical field, working in an optometrist's office before moving over to ophthalmology. She started as a tech, got appropriate certifications, and eventually became the head surgical coordinator at a practice in Scottsdale. In fact, she even started school to become an ophthalmologist before 2020 and the pandemic changed everything for her. After a series of changes in both her career and her husband’s former company, Chris and Jazz decided to get into business together, starting Arizona Pristine Roofing.
No stranger to hard work and achieving goals, Jazz immediately started working on getting licensed in roofing. This was clearly a huge pivot and one that Jazz admits was scary. Five years later, the pivot has paid off. Jazz is licensed and has built up a company with a stellar reputation.
Jazz is more than a business owner, she is a community leader. Her dedication to roofing is to be admired and it goes beyond her company. Jazz sits on the board of directors for the Arizona Roofing Contractors Association which is a trade association dedicated to helping to create, raise, and build up roofing as a trade while uniting those in the industry.
While the company started with Chris and Jazz, it has grown, and extended members of the family are also employed by the company. Jazz and Chris have four kids, all boys, and four grandchildren. “Family comes first,” Jazz says during our conversation. Which is something she leads by example with her employees because “everybody is replaceable” when it comes to business. Jazz cares deeply about her employees enjoying life and wants them to be comfortable, not chained to their work. Now, their youngest son is talking about wanting to join the family business.
Leading by example, Jazz puts herself, and the company, out there to help others in the community— working with AZ Women in Roofing, Feed Our Starving Children, and the Children’s Cancer Foundation. This is in addition to the company’s yearly Christmas giveaway where they give away a new roof to a family in need. “We are here to serve our community,” Jazz says as we wrap up our conversation.
