Wrapped in Kindness

Norfolk Iron & Metal Shows How Teamwork and Generosity Can Make a Lasting Difference Year-Round

Each December, the halls of Norfolk Iron & Metal fill with the sounds of laughter, wrapping paper, and the unmistakable spirit of giving. What began as a simple desire to give back has become a cherished company tradition—one that brings their entire team together to make the holidays brighter for local families in need.

Partnering with Alpine Staffing, Norfolk Iron & Metal helps identify families who could use a little extra joy during the season. From there, the team goes to work—collecting wish lists, organizing donations, and transforming their workspace into a cheerful hub of generosity. Employees pitch in with everything from shopping for gifts to wrapping presents and delivering them to Alpine Staffing, where the families are invited to pick up their gifts. On that day, the Norfolk team gets to meet the families face-to-face—a moment that brings the entire effort full circle.

“It’s deeply fulfilling for everyone involved,” shares Diane Hutchison, HR Manager at Norfolk Iron & Metal. “Our employees are motivated by the joy that comes from making a difference. Seeing the gratitude and happiness of the families we adopt reminds us why this tradition matters so much.”

For the Norfolk team, this effort goes beyond charity—it’s about connection. Many employees say their favorite moments come when they have the chance to meet the families in person. There’s nothing quite like seeing a child’s eyes light up with joy or hearing a parent’s heartfelt thank-you. Those glimpses of gratitude stay with the team long after the holidays have passed, serving as a reminder of the difference kindness can make.

The company’s partnership with Alpine Staffing has also strengthened its ties to the community. Together, they combine resources and relationships to create a more organized, impactful outreach program—one that reflects the values both organizations share.

But Norfolk’s commitment to giving doesn’t end when the decorations come down. The team continues to support local causes year-round, sponsoring community events and contributing to organizations like the Greeley Stampede, Weld Food Bank, and Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity.

For Norfolk Iron & Metal, generosity isn’t just a holiday tradition—it’s a reflection of who they are every day of the year: a company powered by people, compassion, and the belief that even small acts of kindness can spark lasting change.
