Changes bring Choices

Being asked to schedule a call from Nicole Friedman, a well-known Wall Street Journal reporter, to be asked a few questions can be a bit intimidating, but she could not have been nicer. We were honored to be included and quoted in the attached article. It covers many questions both consumers and agents have about the new rules that rolled out August 17th. Our strongest belief is that change creates choices. We will all continue to have questions, and some mistakes will be made while trying to navigate the new rules. The strongest takeaway should be that all consumers will have more transparency, documentation, and the opportunity to work as partners with their agents to cement the goal of homeownership.  Questions will be asked, and solutions will be found.

Some brokerages are rolling out new pricing models. MRE and Advisors, a brokerage in The Woodlands, Texas, is offering buyers and sellers a menu of services, with estimated hours and a billing rate for each service they select. The savings can be significant compared with typical commissions, especially for high-price homes, said broker and co-founder Pat Manicom.
