There is something so enthralling about this magical time of year. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, it really is a season of giving. And what better way to rejoice in this cheerful time of year, than by visiting some of Medina County's great boutiques for your gifts. These three boutiques offer everything you need this holiday season, with a bonus – you're supporting local businesses and the local economy! Whether it's the latest and greatest young adult novel, a custom sound system or a trendy vegan leather handbag, these boutiques have got you covered this holiday season.

I.D.E.A. Designs by Elizabeth

As a 5-year-old girl, Elizabeth McComsey can remember running around below her dad, collecting the baby trees that he threw down as he cleaned out the gutters of our house. She told him that she was going to save them, sell them and use the money to help save the earth’s rainforests. That plan never quite came to fruition, but after living in Costa Rica as an exchange student 15 years later, the importance of helping our natural world once again came into the forefront of her mind.

I.D.E.A. (Inspired Designs by Elizabeth Anne) was born in 2010 with a small inheritance from Elizabeth's grandmother. "My mom told me that she always wanted me to follow my dreams, so I did," says Elizabeth. Initially, she made all of the jewelry in the shop by herself using natural ethically-sourced gemstones. She would donate a portion of her proceeds to different charities that help the environment.

In the years that followed, I.D.E.A. Boutique continued to grow. She recently moved into her new location at 108 W. Washington St, where she has much more space. In addition to her own jewelry, she now offers a huge selection of vegan handbags (a line of cork bags being her absolute favorite), natural skincare products, essential oils, beeswax food wraps, reusable straws, vegan candles and more. She also has a section of the shop dedicated to religious jewelry and Ancient Roman Glass jewelry that contains 2,000-year-old glass from the Holy Land. The boutique also has a newly renovated classroom that offers classes on everything from jewelry making, to a class on how to make elderberry syrup. Visit their website at IdeaOnlineCatalog.com for more information.

The I.D.E.A Designs by Elizabeth retail space is located at 108 W. Washington Street Medina, OH 44256.
