Susan Haney and Upstream Health Coaching

Tired of one-size-fits-all approaches to dieting? – Drained from toxic relationships?Overwhelmed by stress at work? – Fed up with those nagging cravings? – Want to feel great in your body?

If you’re ready to accomplish your goals in a way that’s empowering and exciting, meet Susan Haney and Upstream Health Coaching.

Trying to help people live healthier lives has consumed the majority of Susan Haney’s life.  As SVP of Marketing for Gaiam, the nation’s largest provider of yoga and fitness content and products, Susan was motivated to give back. Her inspiration came from the well-known “Upstream” parable about the person who kept dragging drowning people from the river to save them, without paying any notice as to the root cause. It formed her current mission, which is to help people before they start “drowning”. Thus, she decided to go “upstream” to help improve life quality for her clients.

So, Susan earned the title of Integrative Nutrition Health Coach studying under the world's top health and wellness experts at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She worked with leaders in the field from such outstanding institutions as Harvard, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York University, and the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, as well as many other innovators involved in nutrition and lifestyle.  Completing her studies in early 2021, she has now become one of the top “go-to” nutritional coaches in the area. She attributes her success to date to a number of reasons, but she believes being a good listener is one of the most important. Susan knows what it’s like to have health issues and is mission-driven to share her new knowledge with others.

One of the key issues to change peoples’ lives for the better is to really get to know them well. Her education provided her with “extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and prevention”. She draws on her expertise and training to provide the guidance and support to change a client’s ability to understand nutrition and lifestyle choices. The goal is to find the best food and lifestyle that work for you so that you can make improvements in your life. Susan is motivated to improve your energy, balance, health, and happiness, all of which lead to a better quality of life.

But Susan also understands that life balance is not just attained through nutrition. She will consult with you to bring more balance to other important elements of your life. Love and relationships as well as career and money also contribute significantly to your overall happiness. Susan says she “will personally and carefully guide you to make simple, small changes that transform your life”.

Susan will work with you to:

  • Connect the dots between who you are and who you want to be
  • Create your personal blueprint
  • Decipher your body’s unique needs
  • Set your personal goals and work towards sustainable change

Susan was raised in New Jersey and earned a BA in Business Administration from Union College. She moved to McKinney four years ago and definitely loves the lifestyle provided by this awesome community. She had always wanted a small, historic home in the setting that McKinney provides. She is married to her husband, Michael and they have two dogs, a Lab named Molly and a mix-breed rescue named Harry.
