Exactly a year ago during October, Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea -- Panther Creek opened to the Frisco/Little Elm community. Since then, co-owner Jumoke Macaulay continually invites everyone to "Sit. Relax. Refill. Repeat."
Sweetwaters offers matcha drinks, espresso, pastries, desserts and breakfast favorites. Jumoke says Sweetwaters intentionally was designed to offer first-rate café fare, alongside globally influenced coffees and teas in an environment that's both classic and friendly. The café team prides themselves on making every recipe with clean ingredients.
Signature coffees include Crème Caramel, Dragon Eye and French Vietnamese Au Lait. Premium teas encompass Dragon Pearl Jasmine, Earl Grey, Greek Mint, Emerald Matcha Blend and Winter Blossom.
For meetings or gatherings, Jumoke says fresh 96-ounce boxes can be picked up for coffee, tea, lattes, ginger lemon tea, hot chocolate and spiced cider.
Along with her husband and co-owner, Akins, the Macaulays also made becoming part of the community a priority. Currently, they host a game night every Wednesday, from 5-9 p.m. The coffee shop walls feature art created by local artists, a fun chalk wall that's very “Instagrammable," and a meeting table that can be reserved for up to 10 people. She says they also offer a free drink to Frisco Independent School District students with straight A-s.
Akins says they supported "No Guts All Glory," a local foundation that helps those suffering from Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and colon cancer. He adds that they provided breakfast for teachers at Coy Miller Elementary, Lone Star High school, Lakeview Elementary, Corbell Elementary and Robertson Elementary. They also sponsor the PTAs at Robertson and Boals Elementary.
As part of their one-month countdown to their one-year anniversary, they collected food items and monetary donations, with a portion of sales all being donated to Frisco Fastpacs.
