From Jackson Vaughan candles to White Rock Granola’s latest flavorings, luxury gift box company A Box of Dallas makes a point to showcase local treats and the small businesses behind them with each beautifully wrapped assortment. “One of my top priorities is to bring joy to others through gifting,” founder Theresa Dickinson says. “All while supporting these amazing local businesses in Dallas.” And Dickinson makes it easy to deliver glad tidings to anyone on your nice list with themes ranging from Teacher Appreciation to The Golfer to Bride to Be and an assortment of holiday options.

We asked Dickinson to share her process for hand-picking the delightful—and often delectable—assortment of local items for each luxury box, and tested a few products (hint: microchip cookies) along the way.

Park Cities Lifestyle: What is your process for finding items?

Theresa Dickinson: We truly take pride and carefully choose every single item we include in our gifting. We always sample every product before making a final decision. Currently, I am absolutely loving our holiday collection. When choosing products and curating each box, I put myself in the position of the recipient, knowing it is something I would love to receive. I always make sure the products we carry contain ingredients that I fully support. For example: White Rock Soap Gallery uses extremely clean ingredients and that I just love.

PCL: Were you a personal fan of any of the products before including them in the gift boxes?

TD: Before starting A Box of Dallas I loved using Clovertree Apothecary’s skincare. I knew I wanted to include their products in our gifting. I feel so blessed to have found and gained relationships with so many amazing business owners around Dallas and to support them in this way.

PCL: What makes A Box of Dallas stand out in the gift box industry?

TD: I feel as though A Box of Dallas is unique because we primarily work with small business owners. We take our time selecting a mixture of locally crafted contents. We love to capture the amazing businesses of Dallas, and each box is intentionally curated and filled with Dallas’ best items.

PCL: Are there any special deadlines for holiday delivery?

TD: To ensure your gift arrives on time, order on our website by December 16 for priority mail and December 21 for priority mail express. Ideally, we want our clients to place orders toward the beginning of December. We pride ourselves on working with small batch and local artisan businesses—and as a result, certain items may become unavailable the closer we get to the holidays. But we do offer same-day local delivery if your gifting is ordered before noon until December 23.
