Mothers and Daughters in Douglas County Making a Difference

NATIONAL CHARITY LEAGUE, INC., ELEVATION CHAPTER MEMBERS VOLUNTEERED OVER 2,400 HOURS IN PAST 14 MONTHS

Members of the Elevation Chapter (Douglas County) of National Charity League, Inc. (NCL), the nation’s premier mother-daughter volunteer organization, volunteered 2,431 hours in the past 14 months in support of local non-profit organizations.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to support so many wonderful local organizations who have stepped up to the exceptional challenge of the past year,” said Diana Daniels, President.

These hours supported over 20 philanthropic organizations located in or serving residents of Douglas County including the Help & Hope Center, SECORCares, Rylie’s Ark and Clothes to Kids.

“We support our community in a wide variety of areas such as agriculture, food and clothing insecurity, children, health awareness, our troops and first responders, the elderly and those who are ill,” said Lauren Shadid, Vice President, Philanthropy.  “NCL is an amazing organization of mothers and daughters who recognize the value of community outreach and role up their sleeves to contribute.”

National Charity League’s program is based around leadership development, community service and cultural experiences.  With a calendar full of volunteer opportunities, NCL brings mother-daughter teams together to serve the community.  The Chapter also has social and leadership opportunities for both the mothers and daughters as well as dynamic speakers and an annual tea.

The chapter welcomed 63 new members this year and looks forward to continued growth.

“Our chapter’s growth over the past three years has been significant.  As the chapter grows, so does our contribution to the community,” said Ally Tedrow, Vice President, Membership.  “So many local women are interested in sharing their commitment to philanthropy with their daughters.  NCL is an amazing opportunity for mothers and daughters to work together to support those in need.”
