Honey Space

What it is: An emotionally intelligent co-working space and mental health support center with child care on site

All specializing in working with parents and parents-to-be, Honey offers private and couples therapy, group support, childbirth education, sleep and feeding consultation, consulting for working parents and corporate on-site and virtual programming for employees. Honey has become known for its wide range of support groups offered during the days, evenings and weekends by Honey-trained leaders and therapists.

Groups range from the HoneyMamas 0-3 Month Group to the Tension of Motherhood, Anxiety Support Group for Parents, Fertility Support Group, Miscarriage and Loss Group, Mothers without Mothers, Parents of Tots and so many more. Honey also holds a weekly Entrepreneur Class for moms in business. A haven and an oasis– even online in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak–, Honey holds the space for parents to be exactly where they're at: raw, authentic and unapologetically real.

Nature’s Playhouse

What it is: An all-natural play and wellness center for families

Nature’s Playhouse provides a warm, comfortable and homey space while ensuring the provision of high-quality services by well-trained, licensed and certified professionals. They understand that the transition into parenthood isn’t easy and seek to share the joy as well as the struggle. Nature’s Playhouse exists to support parents throughout the journey, including pregnancy, postpartum, toddler life and beyond. Service areas include fitness, birth education, in-home lactation support, body work, family enrichment classes, free support groups, counseling services and opportunities for play.

“Some have found their way to us looking for a yoga class where they can also bring their kids to play,” executive director Sarah Doyle said. “Others have arrived, sleep deprived and overwhelmed, looking for support postpartum at our weekly, free, drop-in support group for new mamas. Many have come looking for breastfeeding support, birthing classes or a safe, whimsical environment for their toddlers to play. Still, others come seeking support from one of our six highly-qualified perinatal mental health therapists. Whether it is education, fitness, counseling, body work or play, we have something for your growing family.”

Detroit Mom’s Infertility and Loss Support Group

What it is: Peer-led support group that offers women a safe space to share

Trying to navigate life after miscarriage, stillbirth, loss of an infant or when struggling with infertility can feel terribly lonely and extremely difficult. The Detroit Mom Infertility and Loss Support Group wants to be there to support you. They meet at least once a month to offer you a safe space to share your infertility and loss experiences.

The hosts are women like you who've had those same struggles and are hoping to offer you support throughout your journey. The goals of the support group are to connect you with a community of others going through similar situations, create a warm environment for you to share your feelings, to help you feel less alone and more understood. Additionally, they occasionally host “expert talks” from local medical and service providers in the metro Detroit area to aid you in your journey. In addition to this group, Detroit Mom also has a Pregnancy after Loss and Infertility Support Group, as well.
