What’s the story behind Exelnt Designs?
After not being able to find a proper-fitting swimsuit, owner and designer Trish Crowder started custom-making her own swimsuits. Custom Swimwear by Exelnt Designs became so successful that in July 2017, Crowder bought and renovated a storefront in Royal Oak. The team prides themselves on happy customers, making sure that everyone who comes into the store finds a suit that not only fits them perfectly but one they are comfortable with and feel beautiful wearing.
How does this swimwear differ from others?
The swimwear is made by women for women. They take the frustration out of buying a swimsuit and custom-make swimsuits to fit every body type. There are hundreds of suits in-stock at all times and a large variety of styles to choose from, ranging from conservative and classy to trendsetting. They also offer custom-made swimsuits for women who have had a mastectomy. Custom Swimwear by Exelnt Designs believes that everyone and every body is beautiful and that fit, quality, self-image and self-confidence are so important!
Can old swimsuits be recreated?
Yes! You would first have a private fitting with Trish and discuss what changes you would want made (if there were any). You would choose from all of the fabric choices. Once the pattern is made, the suit would be hand cut and sewn. Once your suit is ready, you would come in and try it on before taking it home.
