Jerry Lasco, the owner of Lasco Enterprises, is a self-professed wine aficionado. As the owner of five restaurants, Lasco is deeply entrenched in the wine business and was invited on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to travel and taste his way through South American wine country.
Lasco traveled through Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc country in the Maipo Valley and Patagonia for Pino Noir, but he found his most thrilling experience in Argentina’s pristine Malbec region. “Right from the start, I knew I was going to enjoy this country. Mendoza is welcoming, with tree-lined streets radiating from plazas where people congregate to socialize with food and wine against the incredible backdrop of the Andes Mountains,” said Lasco.
Lasco’s experience culminated in a feast with the perfect pairing of Argentinian beef and prized Malbec. He is celebrating his experience on World Malbec Day at The Black Door Wine Club, where guests can get a taste of the following Malbecs.
Fincas Del Sur Malbec, AR This is a great fruit-forward Malbec made just for Lasco Enterprises. Bright red fruits are mixed with ripe dark fruits in a smooth and soft body.
Red Schooner Malbec, AR/CA This ultra-rich Malbec has dark red fruits, like plums and cherries, are packed in the bottle.
Terrazas de los Andes Malbec ‘Reserva;, AR Terrazas is an iconic name in Argentinian Malbec. Black cherries, plums, and other dark fruits are touched with spice. A soft earthy finish is wrapped in supple tannins.
