The Ultimate Margarita

Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, Monica Richards of Arnaldo Richards' Picos Restaurant shares her recipe for the ultimate Margarita.

When celebrating Cinco de Mayo, there are a few drinks that automatically come to mind, and at the top of that list is the Margarita. There is something about the combination of tequila, lime juice, and a salted rim that makes every celebration better.

Arnaldo Richards' Picos, located in the city's Upper Kirby District, has served up traditional Mexican food and drinks for nearly 40 years. The restaurant's robust cocktail menu, comprised of over 20 margaritas including several served from their exclusive barrel collection, has established Picos as the go-to for those craving traditional Mexican food and a delicious margarita. "Picos has withstood the test of time in Houston because of our staff, the consistency in everything that is offered from our culinary team, and a feeling of family when you walk through our doors," says Monica Richards, Beverage Manager and Chief Marketing Officer for the restaurant.

Richards, a fourth-generation restauranteur, shares Picos' recipe for their Top Shelf Margarita just in time for your Cinco de Mayo celebration.
