Walnut Old Fashioned

An Old Fashioned is a classic cocktail that appeals to whiskey lovers. Made with whiskey or rye, sugar, bitters, cherry (Luxardo preferably), and often garnished with orange peel. Some muddle a sugar cube with bitters and a bit of club soda or water in the bottom of a rock glass. Some use simple syrup. And others do not use simple syrup or sugar at all, like The Walnut Kitchen in Maryville, Tennessee. Instead, they use Praline Bitters for sweetness. Their Walnut Old Fashioned has become a customer favorite and a staple of the drink menu.

Ingredients:

Bourbon, Black Walnut Bitters, Praline Liqueur, Luxardo Cherries, Orange.

Directions:

Luxardo cherry and orange slice muddled with Black Walnut Bitters and Praline Liqueur. A shot of your favorite Bourbon topped with ice and finished with an orange slice.
