One of the great things about running is that you can do it anywhere! You don't need a gym membership – all you need is a few items and the great outdoors. Here are my top six picks to get you moving in 2023.
1) Shoes
I'm loving the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 right now. They are great race-day shoes or up-tempo trainers. Lightweight and carbon-plated, it's my go-to shoe for fast day!
2) Socks
Remember, cotton is rotten! You need moisture-wicking socks to keep the water away from your skin and prevent blisters. My favorite is the Swiftwick Flite XT.
3) Hats
In winter or summer, the sun can be punishing in Vegas. I keep the sun off my head and the sweat out of my eyes with the Boco Run Hat. It is lightweight and breathes well.
4) GPS Watch
If you want to get serious about training, a GPS watch is a must. The Garmin Forerunner 55 has everything you need and won't break the bank. Track your pace, distance, speed, and heart rate.
5) Exercise Bands
Runners exist in a plane — going forward, often ignoring lateral movement. And they are notorious for weak hips. Keep your hips strong with simple Pro-Tech Athletics Resistance Band hip exercises.
6) Roll Recovery
The R8 by Roll Recovery is the perfect tool for sore legs. Its spring-loaded tension gives the perfect pressure to ease the pain and speed up your recovery.
