Dr. Baljeet Purewal & the 4R's to look your best!

Dr. Baljeet Purewal, owner of Fresh Face & Eye, is a board-certified oculoplastic surgeon specializing in the face with a focus on eyelid surgery and non-surgical facial rejuvenation. As a toddler, she always wanted to become a doctor to help others and solve problems. She also loved the arts, so merging these two worlds led her to become a plastic surgeon.

You can rejuvenate your face with minimal invasive techniques and preventive treatments. And for some patients, eyelid surgery can make a refreshed, youthful change.

Baljeet’s approach is unique for facial rejuvenation, and her practice focuses on the four R’s. Doing a little of each will give you healthy and youthful skin because they complement each other.

1.       Relax: Use Botox to relax the muscles to avoid pulling on your brows. Frequency: Every 3 to 4 months.

2.       Refill: After the age of 30, we lose collagen. We can refill the small amounts of collagen lost. Frequency: Every 9 to 12 months.

3.       Reposition: We use Ultra-therapy, a non-invasive high frequency ultrasound treatment to tighten and lift. Frequency: Every two years.

4.       Resurface: For the skin’s texture, it is important to remove the dead skin of the outer layer. Exfoliate with chemical peels, micro-needling or our Halo laser which helps stimulate collagen, reduce fine lines, and even out skin tones. Frequency: Every 2 to 6 months.

“When you resurface your skin, the light reflects off it and you get that glow,” she says. “You are nourishing your tissue.”

Baljeet shares a simple rule for great skin.  “I believe strongly in good skin care,” she says.  “It starts with wearing sunblock and a good retinol. I want to be able to give to others what I would want for myself.”

Be sure to visit the relaunch of her website, https://newjerseyeyelidsurgery.com/. You will find fabulous skin care advice and tips for every age group starting from the 20s through the 50s and beyond. You will also find “healing diaries” of what it is like to heal on day 1, day 2, and onward for specific treatments.

Why did you choose Chatham for your practice? “I love the vibe of the town,” says Baljeet. “I always loved this area. I was looking for a space that feels like a home versus a cold office building with an elevator. I wanted to create a space that feels inviting.”

What is your advice for living your best life? “Staying true to yourself and have compassion.”
