Sweet Couples

Pages 1 & 2

Who:

Hanna (Bee) Tucker & Ken Tribbett

Who are they:

Hanna is the host of a show at Hot 106.7. She covers lots of local, pop culture, and artist content. She also recently started a coffee company: Hanna Bee Coffee! The coffee is specialty, single origin, and small batch roasted. It’s currently available online and some local stores.

Ken is a professional soccer player. He has been playing his entire life, and feels extremely blessed to be able to do what he loves for a living.

Pull Quote:

"Once we started chatting, I was like this guy is so nice! — Isn’t it funny how these days it’s shocking to meet an actual NICE guy?" - Hanna about Ken

Body Copy:

Hanna and Ken met at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse in Nashville. Hanna had arrived at the restaurant with her friend who happened to know Ken and his teammates. Ken was the tallest in the group which Hanna noticed right away. Ken made sure to swap places with his teammate standing by her so he could talk to Hanna. “He had manners, was just overall so genuine and so kind.” Said Hanna.

When asked about their favorite things about one another, Hanna replied quickly with “I admire him for how patient and how genuinely kind he is. On top of that he works so hard in life and at a job he just loves.”

“Hanna’s determination and willingness to work to get herself where she wants to be is my favorite thing about her,” says Ken. “It has been amazing to watch her build her coffee company from the ground up.”

Ken and Hanna love to cook. Both of their families are big on cooking and baking. Ken is fantastic with smoking different foods on the grill like ribs, cowboy steaks, and pizza. Hanna likes making items like dressings and marinara sauces from scratch with herbs from our garden.

Ken and Hanna just got engaged in December of 2020. “We’ve got lots of fun wedding planning coming up for the big day in November this year,” says Hanna.

Who:

Mayor Rhea Little and Marie Little

Who are they:

Rhea Little is the mayor of Brentwood. He also owns a family business, Rhea Little Tire & Auto Repair, located in Brentwood. His family’s Brentwood roots date back to the 1790s. Marie is his beautiful wife. They are celebrating 35 years of marriage this year.

Pull Quote:

“I honestly thought, wow, this guy is the nicest, sweetest guy, who had the most beautiful blue eyes,” Marie’s first impression of Rhea.
“Immediately, I saw how beautiful she was (and is), my heart fluttered (still does), and as I talked to her, I was even more impressed,” Rhea’s first impression of Marie

Commitment is their secret to a long marriage. They first committed to God and to each other. “You have to trust, respect and forgive. We have fun together, and truly enjoy being together. Marriage is work, but it is the greatest reward to have a partner to love and share all life’s ups and downs.” Says Rhea. “Also, some of the best advice from my dad was, “Just remember, what’s hers is hers, and what’s yours is hers!” With everything, you must have a sense of humor!”

Successfully practicing work-life balance as a business owner and a Mayor is a tremendous blessing when you have a spouse who understands Rhea’s call to serve Brentwood and is a great partner in serving!

When the Little’s aren’t serving the Brentwood community, they enjoy a date night now and then.  From a casual dinner and ice cream to a more romantic, upscale dinner, they thoroughly enjoy both.

Their very favorite date is packing a picnic and heading to Crockett Park during the summer, when the summer concerts are offered. “These times have been our most fun, memorable dates, as we love music and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors,” says Rhea. “We sure missed this during 2020, but hope they return this year, and no doubt we will be there celebrating our 35th year of marriage.”

Who: Aimalohi (Aima) Ahonkhai and Michael Nottidge

They are: Both are medical doctors of Nigerian descent who’ve been on the local frontlines fighting COVID-19. Aima is an infectious disease specialist and assistant professor of medicine for the University's Division of Infectious Diseases.  Michael is the immediate former director of the intensive care unit at TriStar Centennial Medical Center Hospital.

Pull Quotes:

“As physicians in critical care, our jobs and workdays are all about being purposeful and helping others. I’m the taskmaster in our family, and Michael is good about reminding us to press pause to find those moments to acknowledge each other and connect with our three children,” conveys Aima.

“Throughout the past year of uncertainty, I pinged Aima to tap into her knowledge of diseases as we determined emergency room policies and protocols. She forwarded summaries of evolving medical findings, and was my source for high-quality takeaways regarding coronavirus,” reveals Michael about having his ‘own personal infectious disease adviser.’

Two Brentwood sweethearts leave their hearts out on the medical battlefield each day for the many, many others they try to protect against COVID-19 and other life-threatening conditions. Ask this married couple what they've planned to celebrate Valentine's Day, and they have a hard time being self-focused, other than to share they're seeking new ways to "decompress."

No kissing or hugging can occur for this couple after work until they change clothes, decontaminate and call all-clear for their three children who are 3, 8 and 10 years old. As a self-confessed, lowkey germophobe, Michael says he followed a strict routine even before the recent pandemic. “Our kids are used to asking, ‘Can I touch you?’”

They remember frequently communicating with each other in various forms over the past year, and recall being constantly concerned about what if one or both of them got ill. “So much fear and uncertainty make you cling to what you love and know,” says Aima.

Both of them already received their coronavirus vaccinations, and are encouraging other minorities to do so, too. They also both have shared American discoveries about this disease with fellow colleagues in Nigeria in hopes of helping around the world.

With being busier than usual through a surreal period of time, these two health care heroes are avid bicyclists, sharing that hobby with their children now, along with taking up fishing.

Who: Deanna Lambert and Dan Thomas

They are: Deanna is community relations director for Brentwood. Her other ‘job’ is mom to Sadee, 8, and Hudson, 6. Dan is the weather man on WSMV News4.

Pull Quote:

“Deanna seemed nice at first, someone I wanted to be friends with, but after a few weeks I saw how the room consistently lit up when she walked in. Plus her infectious smile, great energy and super fun side -- wait a minute...that's her only side -- eventually drew me in.” Dan about Deanna

Body Copy:

In 2003, they were working at the NBC TV station in New Orleans. Deanna was a producer and Dan was a meteorologist. They had the same strange days off in a vibrant city that focused on music and fun, so they hung out and became friends.

Deanna says she would’ve laughed if someone said Dan would be her future husband, because they were so opposite. “I fell in love with how genuine and kind he is. What you see is what you get, and he’s true to his word. He has the best character and is so funny. Fast forward and now we complement one another.”

They weren’t sure if their first date was a date or just friends hanging out. Dan says he searched his closet for the best/coolest outfit. “Ironically, later I found out she was less than impressed and thought I wasn't interested in her because of what I chose, a long sleeve Vail, Colorado T-shirt. Come on -- who wouldn't think that's steamy hot?!?”

During April 2021, they will have been married for 12 years.

Their idea of a great date is a few drinks over dinner with interesting conversation – uninterrupted! It would be nice to see a movie in a theater again someday when COVID-19 is behind us,” laments Deanna.

Dan and Deanna say they spent years perfecting their communication. “We can’t fly off the handle, call each other names or yell. We argue peacefully, respectfully, and try not to interrupt,” they both agree.

Their favorite hobby is doing things with their kids, as a family.
