A little over 20 years ago, Brent and Stephanie Steiner of Ohio wanted to start their dream careers in the furniture industry—but were at a standstill on how to begin. Luckily, they had family in the Valley who noted that there were no known places to buy quality handmade, hardwood furniture in the area. The Steiners packed up their young family, moved to the Valley, and opened Steiner’s Amish Furniture in Sun City.
Fast-forward, and thanks to hard work, great customer service, and quality-crafted furniture, Steiner’s Amish Furniture in Sun City—with a 15,000-square-foot showroom—has become the Valley’s largest fully Amish furniture store.
In March 2020, the family-owned business opened a second showroom in Chandler—unfortunately right as the pandemic made the world pause.
“Because of the timing of the Chandler showroom opening, we never had an official grand opening, so many people in the community may not even know we have a location in Chandler,” explains Brent. “This month, in addition to a newly revamped website, we will be holding a Belated Grand Opening Celebration at both locations to celebrate our Chandler store addition.”
During the Grand Opening celebrations (details available at SAFAZ.net), customers who purchase furniture will be able to spin the “Wheel of Discounts,” where whatever discount they land on can count toward their purchase. Community members are invited to both the Sun City and Chandler locations to take a look around and experience the difference of Amish furniture.
“In general, Amish furniture is about functionality, simplicity, durability, and natural beauty. Because Amish furniture is made of natural, neutral-toned woods, these pieces look great in any home and with any décor,” Stephanie explains. “Amish furniture never goes out of style, and makes any house feel like home no matter what the current fashion is. Amish furniture has a traditional style, meaning the furniture is uncomplicated, easy on the eyes, cozy, functional, and timeless.”
Stephanie adds that both of the Sun City and Chandler locations are design centers.
“Essentially, all of the furniture on the website can be customized to fit the wood, color, style, and size that is needed,” she adds. “When [guests] visit the showroom, they can see the woods with the stains and select exactly what they want.”
The couple shares that they and their staff provide a no-pressure sales environment at each location.
“From start to finish, we strive to provide world-class service and meet your needs,” Brent says. “We do not outsource our delivery from our barn to your door. Meaning, we personally finish the pieces at our refinishing shop in Ohio, pick up the furniture in Ohio, deliver it to our store, and our team personally delivers it to your home. And we don't charge for local delivery—which is huge. No one else does that.”
While the majority of their pieces are customizable, they do have items that are available as-is or for quick shipping, too.
With their Sun City location entering its second decade, and a new location in Chandler just opening, the husband-and-wife team are proud of the foundation they have made and the future ahead.
When asked about the secret to their success, Stephanie emphasizes that it’s about, “Not being afraid to change, but always remaining true to who we were and wanted to be.
“The most important thing was putting faith and family first. Our customer service is our top priority, and we pride ourselves on giving every customer individualized attention and making sure they know that the quality of service is above and beyond their expectations.”
In addition to serving customers, Steiner’s Amish Furniture takes pride in giving back to the local community. They do this by supporting Goldensun, a faith-based community for adults with disabilities. They also partner with United Food Bank during summer and holiday meal drives.
