The Crown Jewel of Paradise Valley

Crown Canyon Offers the Ultimate in Luxury Living

Nestled in a pristine, untouched canyon in the heart of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve lies Crown Canyon, a gated exclusive planned community of luxury homes for the ultra wealthy.

Kevin Groman, founder of Crown Canyon and owner/principal of Crown Canyon Capital, discovered the hidden property and acquired it with plans to develop some of the most high-end, luxurious homes in all the Valley.

A seasoned business man, Gorman had a vision for this untouched parcel of desert tucked in to a mountainous setting and enlisted a team of real estate professionals to help see that vision through—an upscale community of residences where natural beauty meets urban convenience.

The canyon lies between Paradise Valley and the Biltmore area, and provides the utmost in security and seclusion while still only minutes away from local airports and some of the best dining, shopping, and entertainment in town.

Enlisting developer Rich Brock and real estate agents Jonathan Leaman, Maximilian De Melo, and Patrick Niederdrenk, Groman created the ultimate dream team to bring the exclusivity of Crown Canyon to those with the most discerning taste and wealth.

Brock is the founder of BedBrock Developers, and has been building and remodeling homes in Paradise Valley, Arcadia, and Scottsdale for more than 25 years, making him an integral part of Crown Canyon's foundation.

Longtime friends De Melo and Niederdrenk came to Arizona by way of Germany.

“We enjoyed visiting on golf vacations,” Niederdrenk says. “We loved the weather and the people.”

They liked Arizona so much and visited so frequently that they decided to partner to invest in a Scottsdale townhome—a place where they could stay while they visited and rent out while they were home in Germany. When they sold that property, they doubled their investment and decided to move to the United States to pursue a career in real estate. A few years ago they were introduced to Groman and Brock, and joined the Crown Canyon team.

Crown Canyon sits on 30 acres of desert landscape carved into the canyon and parceled into 12 homesites, with the biggest lot at 5 acres. The homes will be the only ones within the canyon, as the land is completely private and nobody can build within or around it, offering residents the utmost in privacy and exclusivity.

The homesites are named after gemstones—Onyx, the first in Crown Canyon to be sold; Jade, Amethyst, Opal, Amber, Garnet, Quartz, Ruby, Topaz, Turquoise, and two yet to be named. All 12 homesites are currently under construction or in the planning stages. Three of the homesites are slated to be completely customized by the buyer, and the others are to be what the Crown Canyon team refers to as “showcase homes.”

The starting price in Crown Canyon is $10 million, and some of the homes are anticipated to be valued upwards of $20 million.

Crown Canyon offers the ultimate in luxury living. The exclusive location is vast, surrounded by thousands of acres of land within the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. The design of all the homes will be congruous with the desert landscaping, and will blend serenely into the mountainous desert surroundings.

“Some of the homesites will be designed in the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired style, while others will be more modern in design,” says De Melo. “But they will all be architecturally significant, very high quality, and will complement the desert setting.”

The design of Jade, one of the mountainside showcase homes, recently earned a prestigious Platinum Award from the National Association of Home Builders' annual Best in American Living Awards. Architect CP Drewett of Drewett Works designed Jade and entitled the residential masterpiece Tri-Angulate for the home's dramatic hillside setting and majestic canyon views.

Brock acknowledges that the award sets the bar high.

“Having the first showcase home earn a Platinum BALA sets the standard for all the homes I am building in Crown Canyon,” he says. CrownCanyon.com
