There’s a sophistication to the city of Clayton that has always made it a desirable place to live. It’s nestled between glimmering high-rises, unique neighborhood boutiques, art galleries, exclusive restaurants, hotels and historic homes. The expansive Shaw Park sits on the west side of the city.
At any time during the day you’ll find block after block of quaint places to eat, sip coffee, shop, exercise or stay. You can spend an entire day of exploring without leaving the area. And when you’re done with your daytime exploring there’s plenty of exciting nightlife. It’s the perfect place to make your home, and that’s just what the MRM Manlin Development Group is counting on. The custom home builder plans to build ten exquisite three-story luxury new Townhomes at Gay and Maryland.
“I think there's a demand for this kind of product in Clayton,” said Manlin. “A lot of Baby Boomers who bought the big houses and are ready to downsize are looking for something in the central Corridor in this area because of the walkability factor, that's a big plus,” Manlin added.
The Clayton-based Manlin Development Group has been building trendy Villas, Town homes, Condominiums and award-winning Custom Homes around the St. Louis area for nearly 20 years. Mike Manlin got his start in construction as a young man working in the family business, then developed the skills to branch out on his own.
“For this project, each unit will be approximately 3000 square feet and will have 3 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, a Private Elevator, a 2 Car Heated Private Garage, a Basement, and a Private Roof Top Terrace overlooking the downtown Clayton Skyline with an outdoor Kitchen and Fireplace,“ said Manlin.
Manlin says it’s all about details, and the larger projects like this current one are the jobs that he enjoys the most.
“There are a lot of very detail-oriented and customization work that goes into a project like this which I really like, I'm kind of stickler for details. They take a little more time, but I just get more satisfaction doing something like this,” said Marlin
The project calls for two Clayton office buildings to be demolished at 114 and 124 Gay Avenue. for ground-up construction of the new luxury Townhomes. They will be located directly behind an office building that holds Charles Schwab, Green Street and Salon Lofts as tenants.
“The City is very excited because there’s been no other new Townhome developments in this area in the past 10 years,” said Manlin. “And any Townhomes that are in the area, are not laid out like this with private elevators and the third floor Private Roof Top Terrace’s overlooking the downtown Clayton Skyline,” said Manlin. The base price for each unit is $1,599,900.
The architect responsible for designing such an amazing project is L.E. Fumagalli of Washington, Missouri.
“There will be five units in each building, and we’re anticipating that the first building will be completed and ready to move into in January 2021,” said Manlin.
Mike says he believes strongly in family. He and his wife Nicole have two adult daughters. And, he says from the time he started out in the family business, he’s always tried to approach his clients with an honest and personal touch.
Manlin says,“Building a home is definitely difficult, but we're very hands-on and we try our best to make that process as easy as possible for each and every client.”
Manlin continued, “We have always prided ourselves on creating a stress-free process that minimizes unexpected surprises or delays, and we are always committed to providing personalized service that ensures each client is treated like family.”
