Congratulations on your engagement! After you have shared the exciting news, it’s time to start planning! When it comes to bridal preparation, it can begin on day one. Here are a few tips to consider while getting ready for your big day….
Hair
Come up with your Hair Color Plan.
Whether you want to stay natural or go lighter or darker, now is the time to start planning. Make sure you book your first service at least 6 months in advance. Also, you'll want to get your hair touched up anywhere from 7 to 10 days before the big day!
Hair Extensions.
If your hair needs a little pick me up, or you don’t have the length you desire, extensions may be the answer. I recommend planning your hair extension needs as far as a year in advance, to even the day of your consultation.
Keratin Treatments.
Frizz and breakage is one of the worst reasons hair styles don’t look as polished as they could. I recommend a keratin treatment to help. Try this service at least 6-9 months in advance to see if you will need it before your wedding date.
Hair style.
Now you know what you need to do to prepare your hair for the big day, think about the look. The most popular trends this year are going back to Hollywood Glamour and hair accessories. If you have an open back dress, you may want to consider a down style, while an up do or soft low bun will work with a high collar dress. I recommend your bridal hair style trial be held at least 6-12 months in advance.
Face
Choose a makeup artist.
Finding the right makeup artist and brand that works well for you, is just as important as finding the right hair stylist. Photography lighting and an indoor vs outdoor setting can make a huge difference in your makeup look. Even if you prefer to have a natural look, take into consideration your surroundings and bring it up a notch.
Makeup
Start looking at photos of you with makeup on in different styles. Collect inspirational photos of makeup you like, as well. Start working on your eyebrows, in case you need to grow them out or shape them into a proper arch.
Skincare
With your skin, consider a good moisturizer and schedule a facial. Talk to an aesthetician to see what your skin care needs are. This can be done as soon as 6 to 8 months prior to your wedding day.
Lashes
Consider false strip lashes or eyelash extensions. Please go to a certified and licensed lash tech only. I would get these done well in advance to see how your eyes react, and to see if it is the look you want to achieve. I would also recommend a new set or maintenance fill the week of your wedding.
