Elevated style to empower and impress

Cherryco features clothing that expresses the uniqueness of every wearer.

Thalia Cherry is the talented, vivacious mind behind this truly unique Kansas City brand, which has been energizing the fashion scene since 2012. Born from her deep passion and curiosity for sports, she wanted athletes to have more to choose from than basic sweatpants. Chances are, you have already spotted some of our local stars wearing Cherry pieces.

“Our designs are worn by a variety of cultural figures, from musicians, artists, and athletes to influencers who value quality and cultural relevance. These include Dawn Staley, Sophie Cunningham, Patrick Mahomes, and many players from the Kansas City Chiefs and WNBA,” she noted.

Some of the brand’s signature pieces capture its DNA perfectly, including bold varsity jackets, stylish snap-pants, and hats that celebrate sports heritage. These designs combine comfort, history, and fashion-forward style, reflecting both performance and personality. They resonate deeply with the community, representing lived experiences and achievements. Other highly sought-after items include premium layering pieces, thoughtfully designed accessories, and limited collections that highlight craftsmanship and creative collaborations.

“We opened our first boutique inside the Made in KC store on the Country Club Plaza because we wanted a space that bridged culture with refined design,” Thalia explained. “Our inspiration comes from athletics and the grace, grit, and tenacity of legendary athletes and cultural icons who shaped my life and our collective history. Cherry was created to celebrate that spirit by blending sports, fashion, and fun to empower people on and off the field.”

Cherry is more than a fashion brand; it is a lifestyle brand that tells real stories through elevated design. A two-sport college athlete, Thalia’s creative journey was sparked by sports, and the friendships she formed along the way shaped her perspective on fashion and the world.

“With that foundation, we launched Cherry and expanded into accessories, lifestyle items, and collaborative projects. Creativity comes from the intersection of sports, sports culture, historical moments, and thoughtful design,” she added.

Cherry designs combine architectural influences and roots with refined silhouettes and premium materials, capturing the energy of the city and the identity of the people who wear them. The brand stands out because of its blend of elevated basics, thoughtful details, and meaningful collaborations with world-class professional teams.

At its core, Cherry is about authenticity, community, and creativity. On Instagram, the brand shares design drops, behind-the-scenes collaborations, lifestyle content, and cultural storytelling that resonates with a global audience.

“Our direction is rooted in thoughtful storytelling and continued innovation, from fashion collections to experiential retail and collaborative projects that connect meaningfully with our community worldwide,” Thalia said. “We are grateful for the global support and remain committed to innovation, storytelling, and creating pieces that resonate with a wide, diverse audience. In April, we are launching a new collection for all 30 Major League Baseball markets. Cherry is the only female-owned Kansas City brand licensed with Major League Baseball.”

As a joint ventures partner of eight Kansas City International retail stores, Cherry has experienced tremendous growth, expanding throughout airports across North America. The beauty of the brand is that the owner is one of our own.

“We design every piece at Cherry Co. to tell the story of legendary athletes, game changers, and cultural icons, whether that is a varsity jacket honoring a college tradition or gear celebrating sports history. We are committed to sustainable, American-made quality using eco-friendly fabrics, so our apparel is as thoughtful as it is memorable,” she shared.
