When makeup is your passion, you understand that it is a true art form. Creativity is the premise Caro Benitez bases her work at Caro Benitez Makeup Studio on.
“I am inspired to create art, and makeup is my passion,” she says. “I am driven to celebrate the natural beauty in everyone to bring out confidence and happiness. My passion led me to international fashion weeks in places like Paris, New York and Miami as well as the honor of working in film and the Grammys. I have been lucky enough to train with some of the best makeup artists in the industry.”
She did not find fulfillment in her law career so decided to live her life doing what she loved as a young girl, which was art and fashion. She grew up in Paraguay and opened her first makeup studio and operated if for 15 years. She met her husband in 2016, and shortly after they relocated to his home state of Kansas.
She now owns and operates Caro Benitez Makeup Studio in Overland Park which opened in 2020, and shortly after expanded to include a spa. Spa services include hyper-customized facials tailored to skincare needs, back facials, lash lifts and tint, brow lamination and waxing. Caro collaborates with Allie Jasminski, a talented esthetician and makeup artist. "Clients call her 'Angel Hands' because of her amazing facial massages," explains Caro.
“My favorite products are often multi-use, for example, using one product for blush, lips and eyeshadow,” she smiles. “Makeup should be fun, so if it feels stressful try and use a multi-use product to simplify your routine. My best skincare tip is to seek help from your esthetician or dermatologist early and often. There are so many skincare products and services that are a waste of money and buying blind will likely leave you disappointed.”
For Fall, she notes she is seeing the “Fresh from a Facial” makeup look for daytime occasions. Since skincare and makeup unite, it is all about healthy skin with the perfect balance of natural makeup. For special events and evening glam, the classic black smoky eye is being modernized with softer brows and golden hues.
“We offer self-makeup classes so you can learn these special techniques for Fall,” she asserts.
