Community outreach may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the term “industrial services.” However, 1888 Industrial Services strives to leave Greeley a better place than they found it.
The company was founded in 2008 right here in Greeley and has quickly become a leading company across the country for construction, transportation, and maintenance services in the industrial sector. “The question is what don’t we do,” said Keith Martin, Senior Vice President of Operations.
Over the past decade, 1888 has grown from a staff of six to more than 400. 1888 works to bring people together by creating a team of hardworking individuals who love their community. While the company’s footprint spans nationwide, their headquarters remain right here in Greeley – along with their passion for their community.
Giving back is in the bones of who 1888 Industrial Services is as an organization. 1888 Gives Back, a community-focused program created by the company, provides funds and services to local organizations, creates opportunities for staff members to connect with their communities by providing services that “give back” in impactful ways.
1888 believes in creating community growth through active engagement and service. “It’s a big city with a small-town feel,” said Martin. Greeley’s small-town feel allows the company to build positive relationships with those in the community and impact many people through their acts of service.
The company shows its love for the Greeley community by giving back to organizations such as Toys for Tots, the NCMC Burn Center Unit, and the Salvation Army Angel Tree. The outreach program works year-round to give back and create lasting relationships throughout the community.
Food often seems to be one thing that brings people together, and 1888 uses this fact as a way to connect with local schools to help raise funds for scholarships, booster clubs, or after-school activities. Last year, 1888 employees spent the day serving at a community-wide BBQ to raise funds for a local school’s football team. The company donated food and drinks for the fundraiser, and all of the money raised went directly back to the team.
1888 also held an event to raise money for Windsor’s after-prom by donating and serving hotdogs and hamburgers to hungry students and parents at the Windsor High School Senior Night Football Game.
The company’s service doesn’t end there, 1888 Gives Back also seeks to give back to those who protect and serve our communities. 1888’s cook team served lunch to Severance Police, Windsor Severance Fire Rescue and Severance city workers to show appreciation for their services.
So the next time you see 1888 Industrial Services, hopefully, more than just electrical, mechanical, and transportation services come to mind. Instead, 1888 hopes that you’ll think of a dedicated, community-focused organization that strives to make our home a better place to live, work, and play.
