2022 Arbor Day

Celebrating 50 Years Of Tree Planting

With Frisco having earned the "Tree City USA" designation, honoring National Arbor Day on April 29 is an important step.

As Arbor Day Foundation supporters celebrate its 50th anniversary during 2022, based on its Nebraska beginnings in 1972, the mission of inspiring people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees has remained unchanged.

Frisco's Urban Forestry Program is led by a board of volunteers.

The city's Living Legacy Tree Program allows citizens a way to recognize the accomplishments of an individual or group, celebrate a birthday, anniversary, graduation or memorialize a loved one. A variety of trees are offered that grow well in Frisco, including Red Oak, Cedar Elm, Live Oak and Chinese Pistache. Trees may be planted in several locations within neighborhood and community parks. Cost is $500 per tree, which includes professional planting and a permanent memorial/honorary bronze plaque.
