Sometimes, medical issues should not and cannot wait. For those times when prompt medical attention is needed, TotalCare Emergency Room at 5245 Preston Road in Frisco is now open, and the medical staff there are ready to assist people of all ages for emergency health care. This facility has a CT machine, X-rays and on-site labs, so imaging and tests can be conducted on-site.
"Sometimes, people experience an event that requires them to be seen as quickly as possible. In those times, freestanding emergency rooms can be the best option to be seen by a physician without going to a big hospital," says Tiffany LaBreck, TotalCare’s community liaison in Collin County.
TotalCare is a family-owned, health-focused company headquartered in Fort Worth. TotalCare medical staffers have been treating patients since 2004. The company encompasses four primary and urgent care locations, one behavioral health clinic, plus nine 24-hour emergency rooms. Tiffany says the company's teams strive to provide shorter wait times than hospital ERs.
“Our patients come to us because they want to be treated quickly, efficiently, and without all of the big hospital hassles,” Tiffany adds. “TotalCare is unique in that we're proud to be a faith-based company, and we practice that faith through our values and our culture.”
In fact, at press time, a TotalCare team was in Africa for a mission trip to assist their permanent medical mission clinic in Eldoret, the fifth-largest city in Kenya, which sees patients six days per week.
“We chose to come to Frisco because it's a tremendous family-centric community that we have wanted to be a part of for a long time. Our second ER opened in Denton, and we've been excited to continue to grow in this part of the Dallas-Fort Worth area ever since,” says Tiffany.

TotalCare employees have the mission of providing more personalized patient experiences than traditional hospital ERs. “We truly believe that freestanding ERs fill a huge need for patients who need to be seen and treated quickly, without having to drive outside of their community or deal with all of the hassles of a big hospital,” Tiffany adds. “I also think that patients find that being seen at a TotalCare facility is a unique experience because we are a proudly faith-based company.”
TotalCare's other emergency care locations are in Arlington, Benbrook, Cedar Hill, Denton, DeSoto, Downtown Fort Worth, Garland (just opened in July) and Weatherford.
Patients with any commercial insurance are welcome, and Tiffany assures that this new Frisco facility also offers competitive self-pay rates for patients with various other insurance situations. She says the facility also doesn’t balance bills in accordance with recently passed Texas laws, meaning that patients will not be billed for the difference between the total cost of services and the amount that their insurance pays out.
