40 Years of Living Good at Hair Today Hair Today · Glastonbury, CT

The Glastonbury Salon is Deeply Involved in Local Philanthropy

For more than 40 years, Hair Today has been grateful to call Glastonbury home.

While styles have evolved and the salon has grown, clients and the community have remained at the heart of everything Hair Today does. At Hair Today, the “Look Good, Feel Good, Live Good” vibe comes to life through genuine care for people and causes close to home.

Over the years, Jane and Mike “Ski” Chemerynski, along with the Hair Today team, clients, friends, and neighbors, have come together to “live good”by supporting countless meaningful causes.

These causes hold an especially meaningful place in their story:

  • The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp gives children with serious illnesses the opportunity to experience friendship, joy, and the freedom to simply be kids.
  • Breast Friends Fund was launched by their dear friend Sandy Cassanelli while she courageously fought metastatic breast cancer. Since Sandy’s passing last year, Hair Today and many other local businesses have continued to support her mission to fund research and clinical trials in celebration of her life.
  • KEVSTRONG supports their close friend Kevin Haggerty during his challenging recovery from a life-changing spinal injury. Known to many as “the Mayor,” Kevin continues to inspire the Ski family, the Marlborough community, and his Sadler’s family.
  • AHM Youth & Family Services strengthens the mental health, well-being, and positive development of children and families throughout Andover, Hebron, Marlborough, and Columbia. Hair Today’s connection continues to grow, with Mike now serving as President of AHM’s Board of Directors.
  • For 15 years, Hair Today has hosted winter coat drives benefiting Button Up Connecticut, which distributes new and gently used coats to residents in need across the state.

Many of these efforts began with someone asking, “Can you help?” And again and again, Hair Today and the community have rallied.

With the holidays upon us, the team at Hair Today is deeply thankful for the generosity, compassion, and community spirit that’s been going strong for four decades.
