One thing you don't want to do is neglect your health. You can't deal with the stress if you don't take care of yourself.

Whether you’re new to the area or have been a resident your whole life, Charlotte has plenty of fitness centers for every type of workout.

There are gyms in Charlotte NC to meet your needs. These area gyms include bodybuilding gyms, CrossFit gyms, gymnastics gyms, climbing gyms, and gyms for boxing, mixed martial arts and basketball.

Here is a guide to some of what fitness centers in Charlotte have to offer.

24-Hr Gyms

A 24-hr gym, The Fitness Factory is located at the corner of N Davidson St and E Sugar Creek Rd. Another is Charlotte Strength, located at the same intersection but on the south side of N Davidson St with The Fitness Factory on the north side.

Both locations are a scant mile or so from the Historic Rosedale Plantation, a home built in 1815. On nine acres, it has withstood over 100 years of change surrounding it.

Charlotte Area Gyms

There are many gyms in the Charlotte metropolitan area. Most of them offer basic cardio workouts on bikes or ellipticals. Many even have trainers, but sifting through the rest can be a battle. Are you looking for yoga? Are you looking for a gym in Uptown Charlotte or South Charlotte? 

The Charlotte area has any type of gym you desire. At the intersection of I-485 and I-77 in NW Charlotte, there is a clump of gyms.

Climbing Gyms

The South End neighborhood offers tons of food, art, music, and nightlife. It was seemingly created specifically for young professionals.

Eat at Hawkers Asian Street Food. For dessert, have something from Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. Climb first at Inner Peaks - South End at the intersection of S Tryon St and Remount Rd. This rock-climbing gym is a South End favorite.

Boxing Gyms

Dyme Boxing and Fitness on Old Pineville Rd has 1-on-1 coaching and opens at 5 am. On Sundays, you can go to church at Freedom Worship Center on Old Pineville Rd before your workout.

Title Boxing Club on Ayrsley Town Blvd is near Top Golf, which is a techy driving range with a great lounge. It's found at the intersection of I-485 Outer and Brown Grier Rd.

UFC (MMA) Gyms

ECF Martial Arts and Fitness, an MMA gym, can be found on South Blvd, a very short distance from Collins Park. Shock Factor MMA sits on Nations Ford Rd. It is located quite close to Ramblewood Park, a county park offering picnic areas, grills, trails, sports areas, a playground, and restrooms. 

The Fight to Win Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu gym on Old Statesville Rd is an MMA gym also offering wrestling and Judo. Take Lakeview Rd and you're just a short drive from Hornets Nest Park. The Dick Harrell Martial Arts gym on Minuet Ln offers Muay Thai, Jun Fan Jeet Kund Do, Filipino martial arts (Insanto method), Pekiti-Tirsia, Maphilindo Silat (Insanto method), and boxing. This gym is right down the street from the Roundtree Plantation garden center.

Basketball Gyms

Life Time Athletic can be found near the intersection of I-485 and Providence Rd. Its Ultimate Hoops premium basketball package includes comprehensive stat-tracking and events with special guests.

You can choose a monthly 'build' gym membership or a 'lifetime' membership. It's just across the way from the Erma James Boutique, the Miller Street Dance Academy, the Banfield Pet Hospital, and the USPS.

Crossfit Gyms

Reebok Crossfit - Charlotte Uptown on S Mint St is a CrossFit gym that's just down the street from Bank of America Stadium and Truist Field (BB & T Ballpark).

Just two streets over is the Carolina Panthers practice field. Just a short drive from another CrossFit gym, Ultimate Crossfit on Remount Rd and the Bill Lee Fwy, are Southside Park and The Humane Society of Charlotte.

Bodybuilding Gyms

F45 Training has locations in the Cotswold neighborhood and in the neighborhood of Midwood. The Cotswold location is near the Cotswold Shopping Mall.

The F45 Training Plaza Midwood location is near Independence Park and the American Legion Memorial Stadium. It's also near Spectrum Center where the Charlotte Hornets play basketball games.

Gymnastics Gyms

Of the gyms in Charlotte NC for kids, gymnastics gyms are the most popular.

The Little Gym of Charlotte near Providence Rd and S Sharon Amity Rd. Charlotte Gymnastics Academy on S Blvd is only a short distance from banks, restaurants, auto care, thrift stores, a fish market, a post office, grocery stores, and the Starmount Shopping Center.

Your Charlotte Area Gym

Whether you’re a bodybuilder or a ‘baller,’ a climber or a gymnast, a boxer or an MMA fighter - maybe you even want to get your workouts with some crossfit; whatever your method of staying fit, Charlotte NC is home to a gym designed just for you.

Life Time Athletic is actually a tennis club, for instance, but they specialize in basketball and have several other services available, like yoga, kickboxing, pilates, weight loss, nutrition coaching, personal coaching, group coaching, race training, and more.

Every gym has different offerings, hours, pricing, fees, staff, amenities, and so on, but with a little research, it will be easy to figure out exactly where your Charlotte home gym is. You may even find your favorite lunch spot, craft store, or hardware store nearby.
