Starting a new business is often described as a leap of faith, but for Lacey Steih, owner of Lacey Grace Aesthetics, it felt more like stepping onto a path paved by long-held intentions. Steih, a licensed aesthetician who has lived in the area for two decades, recently launched her independent studio within the supportive environment of Salon Suites of Grassland, bringing a unique blend of results-driven treatments and restorative relaxation to a part of Williamson County she has long called home.

The decision to establish a presence in Grassland was not accidental; it was the realization of a years-long vision. "Many years ago, when I first dreamed of becoming an aesthetician, I prayed about one day opening a space in the Grassland area," Lacey said. "Having lived here for more than 20 years, I’ve always loved this community, and I noticed there were no facialists along Hillsboro Road between Green Hills and Franklin." The location felt instinctively right. The actual move to independent ownership, however, happened with surprising speed.

Seeking greater flexibility in her professional life, Lacey began exploring the idea of a change. "Once I started praying and seriously considering the shift, everything fell into place surprisingly quickly," she recalled. "Within about two weeks, I had left my previous workplace and signed my lease. It truly felt like the prayers I had years before paved the way." This rapid transition was a major shift, especially for someone who, just months before, was hesitant about the responsibilities of ownership. If you had asked me in January whether I’d go out on my own, I would have said absolutely not. Especially as I approached turning 50! I wasn’t sure I wanted the responsibility of owning a business. Now, I’m incredibly grateful this opportunity opened up when it did, and even more grateful that I chose to step into it."

The transition from employee to independent owner involved countless details, but the salon suite model provided a crucial framework. Lacey noted that while she focuses entirely on elevating the client experience within her studio, the management of the building's exterior and shared areas by Salon Suites of Grassland allows her to keep her time and attention focused on her clients. "Knowing that my clients are greeted by a professional, well-maintained space from the moment they park to the moment they walk through my door has made the transition so much smoother," she explained. "Their support in managing the aspects outside my suite has truly helped me create the warm, consistent, and professional atmosphere I want every client to feel."

This professional environment is essential for attracting a premium clientele who expect the highest standards, something Williamson County is known for. Lacey focuses on corrective facials, which combine targeted treatments for specific skin concerns with a calming, restorative facial massage. She notes that the private nature of the suite greatly enhances the experience. "Having my own private suite has allowed me to create a space that truly promotes peace and relaxation. It attracts clients who appreciate an environment where they can be completely themselves and feel that their time is truly their own."

The studio's design is a thoughtful extension of this philosophy. Collaborating with ECH Interior Design owner Elisha Howell, Lacey curated a space that reflects her clean, calming aesthetic using soft, neutral tones. The luxury experience is holistic, extending beyond the decor to the comfort of a heated treatment bed, luxury linens, and even the soundtrack. Inspired by a massage training retreat she attended in Costa Rica, Lacey opted for a coffee-house style playlist over traditional spa music. "Since making the switch, so many clients have commented on how much more soothing and enjoyable they find it compared to typical instrumental spa music. It brings a fun relaxing element to my studio."

While confident in the financial side of her business, thanks to a background in economics and a CPA husband, Lacey admits the entrepreneurial journey still presents challenges, primarily in creative content creation. "The biggest challenge I continue to navigate is staying consistent on social media," she shared. "It’s the marketing side that stretches me the most." However, the location's professionalism allows her to direct her energy where it is most needed. The local market has responded enthusiastically to having a high-end skincare option in Grassland. Lacey’s grand opening was well-attended, and she remains grateful for the community's support.

Being part of the suite community has also been an unexpected benefit. "From day one, I have been warmly welcomed by all the tenants, and it’s clear that everyone genuinely wants each other to succeed," Lacey said. "There’s a true spirit of collaboration. Whether it’s sharing ideas, supporting one another, or helping meet the needs of the community as a whole." This sense of encouragement is invaluable for a new business owner.

For others considering a similar independent path, Lacey is an advocate of taking the plunge. "If you have a passion, a clear vision, and the desire to grow both professionally and personally, I say go for it!" Her decision to establish Lacey Grace Aesthetics at Salon Suites of Grassland has proven to be an affirmation that planting roots in the right location, surrounded by a supportive community, is the key to cultivating a successful high-end business.
