Franklin Park Boerne is making meaningful enhancements to its Memory Care community, improving the environment and the quality of life for residents and their families. As someone whose own mother transitioned from Assisted Living to Memory Care at Franklin Park, I’ve seen firsthand how essential compassionate, quality care truly is.
The updates include aesthetic improvements to create a warmer, more comfortable space. Still, the heart of the changes lies in the addition of “life stations”—interactive areas that evoke familiar memories and encourage purposeful engagement. These thoughtfully designed spaces, such as a garden workbench, nursery, or office, help residents reconnect with past roles and foster a sense of dignity and accomplishment in their daily lives.
“At Franklin Park Boerne, our mission is rooted in serving the seniors of this community, many of whom helped shape Boerne into what it is today,” says Ilieen Garcia, Director of Resident Care. One resident, a lifelong local, was recognized immediately upon arrival by staff and neighbors who remembered her family’s shop. That familiarity and connection are what make Franklin Park unique.
Support also comes through strong local partnerships. Synergy Care offers in-house occupational therapy focused on dementia care. Mary Barton of Boerne Healthcare Group provides on-site medical support, and River Road Pharmacy ensures accurate, timely medication delivery. Staff are continually trained in dementia care and first aid to meet the evolving needs of residents.
“Our Refreshing Waters Memory Care program delivers person-centered care in a luxury environment,” says Diane Osborne, Executive Director. “We focus on providing the best quality of life for those with memory loss and the people who love them.”
With final updates nearing completion, Franklin Park Boerne is reinforcing its role as more than a care facility. It’s a trusted community that remembers, honors, and uplifts those who helped shape our town.
