Taylor Hornbaker and her team of therapists at Method Pediatric Therapy and Wellness deeply care about helping children overcome speech and physical obstacles that stand in the way of them and the whole family thriving.
She desires for people to be heard and understood in whatever capacity that helps them to feel whole. This heart shines through in her explanation for starting a business as unique and personal as Method.
1. Describe your path to pediatric therapy.
My path to pediatric therapy was shaped by resilience, connection, and the deep belief that children and families flourish when they feel uplifted, understood, and supported with intention. I was raised by a woman who embodied strength and nurturing, and she taught me early how profoundly one emotional anchor can impact a child’s entire world.
When I discovered speech-language pathology, I found a profession where science, compassion, intrinsic understanding, and tenacity converge. Over the past decade, I have worked across multiple settings with infants through teens and developed a holistic, wellness-centered lens. I learned quickly that navigating challenges never affects only the child; it impacts the entire family unit.
This understanding shaped my approach. Therapy should not be something families simply attend. It should be embedded into the rhythms of their real life so that the child grows and the family grows with them, becoming more connected, more resilient, and more equipped to thrive together.
2. What led you to pursue opening your own business?
I founded Method Pediatric Therapy and Wellness to create an elevated, sophisticated therapy model that truly serves today’s family.
My intention was to build a practice where therapists are not only highly educated but genuinely well, emotionally grounded, supported, regulated, and able to show up with authenticity and clarity. When clinicians are cared for, their interactions uplift families and accelerate progress.
Our calm, peaceful office space serves as a place of respite and a sanctuary where families can breathe and reset while their child receives therapy. We also provide in-home and community-based services for families who benefit from therapy occurring within their everyday environments.
3. What is your vision for Method Pediatric Therapy?
My vision for Method is to redefine pediatric therapy through a wellness-forward, whole-family lens. We combine top-tier speech, occupational, and physical therapy with sensory regulation, nervous system alignment, mindful parenting support, and research-based wellness practices that streamline a household’s daily flow.
Ultimately, Method exists to strengthen the entire ecosystem surrounding a child. We help families embed therapeutic strategies into everyday routines, transforming challenges into opportunities for deeper connection, smoother communication, and sustainable growth.
4. How does your passion for what you do come through every day at work?
My passion is woven through every interaction and is guided by intentionality, uplift, and a deep understanding of each child’s intrinsic motivation. I approach each session with the goal of creating a regulated, safe, and grounded environment where learning becomes natural and joyful.
I believe wholeheartedly that challenges affect the whole family, not just the child. For this reason, Method embeds those challenges into the therapeutic process. We help families develop emotional resilience, clearer communication, and stronger connection. Progress for the child becomes healing, alignment, and empowerment for the entire family.
5. What do you want our readers to know about you and Method? What sets you apart from other pediatric therapists?
Personally, I lead with empathy, intentionality, resilience, and tenacity, shaped by my own lived experiences. My goal is to uplift families through exceptional clinical care supported by compassion, clarity, and genuine connection.
Method stands apart because we do not simply treat children. We elevate the entire family experience through wellness, connection, and intentional living. Our work is guided by the core values we embody every day: uplifting connection, whole-family wellness, resilience, intentionality, intrinsic understanding and motivation, and tenacity.
