Dr.  Seuss

Theodor Seuss Geisel, a.k.a. Dr. Seuss was born in Springfield, MA in 1904. He graduated Dartmouth College and attended Oxford University. He received honorary doctorates from Princeton, J.F. Kennedy University, Dartmouth and Brown University.

Geisel was a Lt. Colonel in the Army in World War II. After the war he and his first wife, Helen moved from Los Angeles to La Jolla. There they built a house on 6 ½ acres next to an observation tower that eventually became part of his living room wall. Within a year of Helen’s death in 1967, Geisel married Audrey Stone Dimond, a nurse 20 years his junior, the two remained together until his death.

By the time he died in 1991, he wrote and illustrated nearly 50 books. During his lifetime his books sold over 100 million copies and have been translated into 20 different languages and that number continues to rise at an accelerated rate. His book, Green Eggs and Ham, is the third largest selling book in the English language, EVER.

For his writings, Dr. Seuss had been honored with a Pulitzer Prize, two Emmy awards, a Peabody and three Academy Awards, along with many other literary awards.

In 1997, The Chase Group acquired exclusive worldwide rights to publish the work of Dr. Seuss as limited edition prints. Along with publishing certain book illustrations, Chase is making available editions of Seuss’s, "Secret Art". These are paintings that Geisel painted for his own pleasure and never before shown to the public and exhibit a more sophisticated, technically accomplished and quite unrestrained side to his talent.

Craig Alan

Craig Alan has created a vast collection of pop artworks that reflect iconic celebrities, and pop culture. His Populus series is a unique collaboration of tiny figures coming together creating a larger composition. From iconic figures to cultural references, Alan’s Populus gives audiences something fun to view both far away and up-close.

He began his artistic career at the University of Mobile, Alabama earning his degree in Fine Art with a minor in theatre, adding to his appreciation and understanding of the human figure.  Using a collection of various hand-made stencils, Alan combines his skills by mixing textures, bold colors, and large-scale portraits with technical sophistication to develop unique and imaginative paintings.

“It’s important for the viewer to connect with my work on many levels, people relate themselves to these Celebrity Icons. Throughout history they make a mark in print and also in our hearts.”

Alan’s Populus series reached high heights with the unveiling of his newest, and largest, piece From the Ground Up. This six-story mural is the newest addition to Atlanta’s public art collection, featuring his signature figures coming together to create a phoenix rising from the ashes.

Art Leaders Gallery is proud to be an official Craig Alan art dealer, with a collection of mixed media paintings and limited edition giclées. Commissions are available by contacting the gallery.

Anna Razumovskaya

Anna Razumovskaya graduated from Russian State University for Arts in 1991. From 1992 to 1995 Anna studied in Germany, Belgium, and Holland. Anna has had personal exhibitions in St. Paul Minnesota, Toronto, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Berlin and the United States. Anna works in many different techniques, such as watercolor, oil, acrylic, silk and genres and is an unusual contemporary figurative artist.

"If an artist were asked what she was thinking while creating her artwork, she would hardly give a reasonable answer to that question. This process cannot be analyzed. It is like a miracle."

Anna’s artwork is mysterious enough to be fully understood only in the viewer’s imagination. The predominant image portrayed in her work is that of the illusionary human body. The viewer becomes a participant in the drama unfolding before his eyes. Figures are rendered perfectly, naturally, and the use of extensive detail in the positive space is complemented by impressionistic backgrounds that serve to more fully define the subject while contributing Anna’s signature rich colors and evocative moods.

Today, Anna is mostly recognized for her contemporary figurative paintings, ballet dancers, florals, and landscapes. Her paintings and hand-embellished limited edition on canvas can be found at select fine art galleries.

Anna presently lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
