A Father's Legacy

Famed surgeon, Dr. Michael Ciaravino's legacy lives on through his twin daughters and his practice at Ciaravino Total Beauty.

Dr. Michael Ciaravino, also known as "The Breast Doc," was known for his attention to detail and surgical precision. He performed over 800 breast augmentations each year, so chances are you know someone who has breast implants by the famed Houston surgeon.

Born and raised in New York, he graduated from Tulane University and The University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his training in Houston and made the city his permanent home after opening his practice in 1997.

As Dr. Ciaravino's reputation grew, people came from all over the world to have their breast augmentation done by him. "As a plastic surgeon, Mike not only had the opportunity to help people look better, but he was also able to help them feel better about themselves. That was his true gift – the ability to positively impact how others felt," said longtime friend Mark Foley.

Aside from his professional accomplishments and accolades, Dr. Ciaravino was most proud of his 19-year-old twin daughters Gianna and Angelina. He spent as much time as he could with the girls and piqued their interest in the fashion industry. Both have gone on to pursue college degrees as fashion media majors. "Out of all of his accomplishments, I think he was most proud of being a dad," says Michelle Ciaravino. "He loved shopping with his girls and was a good hands-on dad. He never missed a game and was super involved with everything they did."

His legacy lives on at Ciaravino Total Beauty. Before his passing in March, Dr. Ciaravino hand-selected and trained Dr. Kriti Mohan, who brings tremendous passion and exceptional expertise to their practice. She is a board-certified plastic surgeon who offers a wide range of cosmetic surgeries of the breast and body and places her patients at ease with the highest standard of care, individualized to their personal needs and desires. "Dr. Ciaravino was truly a visionary who built an amazing practice, taking care of tens of thousands of women over the course of his career," says Dr. Mohan. "It has been such an honor to continue in his legacy and tradition of excellence in breast surgery, and I take great pride in his trust in me in continuing his practice."
