Alexandra is the founder of The Lab SSP, a high-tech custom skincare studio dedicated to performing exceptional skincare, scalp micropigmentation, and permanent makeup. While she has seen clientele flood in during the pandemic, taking care of our skin will never get old.
Alexandra founded The Lab SSP in 2021 to give Las Vegas a skincare studio that could compete with the best spas in the world. During the pandemic, she used the shutdown to advance her training, build her clientele, and refine various aspects of her business. The Lab’s beautifying facial treatments arrived at the right time as people have had more time to focus on themselves over the last two years. As Alexandra reflected,
“I think throughout COVID, one of the increased desires for skincare was because people were seeing themselves up close and personal on Zoom calls.”
But it wasn’t just during the pandemic that Alexandra was honing her skills. Her journey started in Miami, Florida, where she was born - to Cuban American parents - and raised. She attended Florida State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Criminal Justice Administration. After a stint as a private investigator, the wanderlust Floridian took time off to travel the world, most notably spending time in Asia. Even during her exploring, she knew her ultimate goal was to help people feel good and be the best they could be. Soon she discovered a way to combine her passions for aesthetics, art, business, and science.
Alexandra finished esthetician school and aspired to learn even more so she could truly be the best. She moved to Las Vegas to study esthetics, permanent makeup, and scalp micro-pigmentation and sought out the most knowledgeable teachers in facial sculpting massage while researching the best product lines. With her journey to seek knowledge complete, she was ready to open her studio.
Now, at The Lab, Alexandra and her team mix and match more than 120 of the best products in the world to treat their clients. The Advanced Custom Facial is a local favorite because it gives The Lab team free range to use whatever products they need and utilize whatever equipment they need within a 90-to-120-minute time frame. No two facials are the same at The Lab; as Alexandra notes, “We offer something different and set a higher bar for each facial treatment.”
The Lab is best known for using Biologique Recherche, one of the leading luxury skincare lines in the world. According to Alexandra, Biologique’s cult-like following includes elite celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez. As of our conversation with The Lab, Alexandra touts being the first to bring Biologique Recherche to Las Vegas and the only place to find it off The Strip.
