A Halo and a Hat

“The next best thing to a hat is a halo!  If you’re not wearing a halo, you’d better be wearing a hat!” Illona Cardona wears both.

Illona is the creator and owner of the A Tisket A Tasket Hat Shops in north Atlanta. This month, she will be helping women chose just the right hat for Polo in the Pines, October 5 and 6, supporting a 7-year mission to fund pediatric cancer research and promote awareness and family support at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

"I met Tina (Fowler, founder of Polo in the Pines) a few years back at the Atlanta Steeplechase in Rome. She told me about her Mom and how she was going to continue her philanthropy with Polo in the Pines," says Illona. "Tina is such a lovely person, I do what we could to assist.  Anytime small businesses band together, great things happen!"

Illona Cardona’s dear friend and renowned milliner Frederick Jones, designed hats for Henri Bendel, SAKS and fashionable shops nationwide.  Before Frederick passed away, he told Illona his only regret was never opening the hat shop they both dreamed of. A former New York clothing designer and   F.I.T graduate, Illona decided it wasn’t too late to realize that dream and  A Tisket A Tasket was born.

We can’t wait to see what she will be wearing at Polo in the Pines!
