A Healthier Kind of Glow

Bringing a customized, natural-looking glow to clients wherever they are

For more than 20 years, Jacque Truesdell has cared for others as a registered nurse. When she began learning more about the long-term effects of sun exposure, her love of a sun-kissed look inspired a new way to help people feel their best. She launched Golden Glow by Jacque, a mobile spray tanning business centered on confidence, convenience and skin health. Today, she brings customized, natural-looking color directly to clients across Central Missouri, offering a safer alternative to UV tanning and a comfortable, personal experience before weddings, proms, vacations and life’s other special moments all year.

What sets Golden Glow apart is the care Jacque brings to every appointment. Her healthcare background helps her create an experience that feels professional, private and reassuring, while her mobile model allows clients to enjoy it from home or another location of their choice. Flexible scheduling and personalized attention make the process especially convenient during busy seasons of life. She values the chance to make each appointment relaxed, enjoyable and tailored to what makes every client comfortable.

First-time clients can book through social media, direct message or text. After choosing an appointment time based on the date of their event, Jacque sends detailed preparation and aftercare instructions. She also discusses each client’s tanning history, skin tone, undertones and desired depth of color to select a customized shade.

“There is no one-size-fits-all solution,” she says. “Every client’s skin is unique.”

On appointment day, Jacque sets up in an open, well-lit area. Before leaving, she reviews how the tan should develop and fade, then follows up the next day to answer questions and ensure the client loves the result.

Preparation is essential for a smooth, lasting glow. Jacque recommends exfoliating with an oil-free product 24 to 48 hours beforehand and shaving at least 12 to 24 hours before the appointment. After showering, clients should avoid lotion, deodorant, perfume and makeup because these products can create a barrier on the skin. Dark, loose-fitting clothing and slip-on shoes are best afterward.

The tan should develop for eight to 12 hours before the first warm-water rinse. Clients should skip soap, shampoo, exfoliation and shaving during that rinse, gently pat the skin dry and wait at least 24 hours before washing their hair. Daily moisturizing is the key to preventing premature fading. With proper care, results typically last seven to 10 days.

Golden Glow offers individual appointments, multi-tan bundles and group experiences for parties, proms, graduations, girls’ nights and bridal celebrations. Bridal packages include a trial tan for the bride and customized tanning for the wedding party two to three days before the ceremony.

For Jacque, the community’s trust means everything. After living in Hallsville for more than 20 years, she has helped clients prepare for homecomings, weddings, Mizzou sorority events and family milestones throughout the surrounding area.

Looking ahead, she hopes to expand into more Central Missouri communities while growing her work with weddings, proms and college events. No matter how the business grows, her purpose will remain unchanged: helping every client feel healthy, radiant and confident for moments they will always remember.
