A Home for the Holidays

The holidays aren’t restricted to family and blood relatives. Think Friendsgiving, white elephant parties, and hometown reunions with ugly sweaters. In short, our closest friends might as well be family, as it is for Sarah and Shay with the S&S Mortgage Team. Along with being best friends and honorary family members, these two loan officers were able to turn that bond into a thriving business partnership. 
 
The S&S Mortgage Team at New American Funding was started by Sarah Alberts and Shay Jenkins, two mortgage loan officers whose winding paths and complementing personalities led to something greater. After being laid off from an IT job in 2012, Sarah was exploring her options. She soon found a lending job in the real estate industry, and would loop Shay into the business nearly five years later. In late 2020 and over a glass of wine in Napa, the two driven loan officers landed on a women-run mortgage team.
 
It all came to be in early 2021, and in the last year and a half, Sarah and Shay have exceeded expectations. Production goals have been shattered. They opened their own Denver branch. Five more loan officers and three assistants have been added to the roster. As each box is ticked along the way, they’re constantly forming new goals to look forward to.
