A Delicious Marriage

Meet the couple behind Mirae

It’s been a few months since Mirae, Brookhaven’s modern Asian-fusion restaurant, expanded its menu and extended its hours, and the excitement has been building ever since. The steady flow of guests walking through the sleek Brookhaven doors is a testament to what husband-and-wife restaurateurs John and Grace Lee — and their team — have built together, both inside and beyond the restaurant.

For the Lees, Mirae is an extension of home.

“Brookhaven is just a few minutes away from Chamblee, where our other restaurant is located. As soon as we came across the area, we were drawn to how welcoming and connected it is. We knew right away that this neighborhood was where we wanted to bring Mirae to life,” Grace shares. That sense of warmth and connection mirrors the values the couple prioritizes in their personal lives.

Mirae first opened in October 2025 with a limited menu. Now, the expanded offerings build upon early favorites while introducing more shareable plates, comforting hot dishes, artful desserts, and new signature items. Mirae, which means “future” in Korean, invites guests to enjoy the present moment in order to build a more meaningful future, an idea that reflects how John and Grace approach both marriage and hospitality.

Each dish is inspired by Asian culinary traditions, paired with the comfort of meals the couple has discovered along their shared path. Many of those influences begin at home. Grace, who is deeply rooted in her faith and active at her local gym, is also a passionate home cook. “Some of my go-to dishes that I cook at home are simple Korean home foods — fermented soybean paste stew, kimchi, and other Korean side dishes,” she says. “I’ve also been on a health kick lately, so I’ve been trying a lot of vegan recipes that I’ve come across on various Korean cooking shows.”

John’s downtime follows a similar rhythm. When he’s not working, he can usually be found watching golf, Korean live sports, or Korean cooking shows, moments of rest that ground him amid the pace of restaurant life.

The couple and the team behind both Fūdo and Mirae believe that every good meal begins with hospitality. From the dishes to the diverse beverage menu filled with craft cocktails, wines, sakes and sojus, every detail reflects care and intention. At Mirae, guests are welcomed into a space shaped by the comforts of home, the strength of partnership and a shared vision for the future.

For the Lees, Mirae is an extension of home.
