Lake Season All Year

Duckett Pointe sets the scene for a serene retreat immersed in community

There is something timeless about life on the lake, and the people of North Alabama are no strangers to lake living. Crisp mornings on the dock, afternoons on the water, evenings spent watching the sunset ripple across Lake Guntersville are a well-known Southern luxury. But the reality for many lake homeowners is that those relaxing weekends often come with a less pleasant workload involving planning, maintenance, yard work, broken boat batteries, preparation, and endless to-do lists.

Developer and entrepreneur Boyd Duckett believes lake living should feel different. His vision for Duckett Pointe, a luxury waterfront community on Lake Guntersville, was born from decades of traveling, owning lake homes, and experiencing firsthand what gets in the way of enjoying precious lake time.

Inspired by coastal communities like WaterColor, Seaside, and Alys Beach, Duckett Pointe brings that same thoughtful, walkable design philosophy to North Alabama while embracing materials and architecture that feel at home in the Tennessee Valley. Stone, wood, inviting streetscapes, and intentionally designed gathering spaces create a neighborhood that is both elevated and welcoming.

Nestled in the heart of Guntersville's growing recreation scene, residents are minutes from Gunters Landing Golf Club, local restaurants, shopping, hiking trails, and one of the country's premier bass fishing destinations. A nearby marina offers both dry and wet boat storage, while concierge services make getting out on the water remarkably easy.

As a developer who enjoys building residential, Duckett says the goal was to create a lifestyle around community and convenience rather than just build homes, and there is no better place to achieve the balance of entertainment and lake living than the quaint town of Guntersville, Alabama.

The community offers a collection of thoughtfully designed residences including townhomes, cottages, villas, and estate homes, allowing homeowners to choose a space that fits their lifestyle, whether they’re looking for weekend vacations or full-time lake living. Each home can be personalized, giving buyers the opportunity to create a residence that reflects their own style while maintaining the cohesive vision of the neighborhood.

At the heart of Duckett Pointe is Willow Park, a community green space complete with fire pits, waterfalls, streams, ponds, and gathering areas designed to encourage neighbors to slow down and connect. The development also boasts a lakeside Shoreline Club featuring a restaurant, bar, resort-style pool, and clubhouse overlooking the glassy Guntersville water.

Beyond the beautiful architecture and amenities, however, it's the effortless experience that truly sets Duckett Pointe apart.

Landscaping, exterior maintenance, concierge services, housekeeping, grocery stocking, marina access, boat rentals, and recreational equipment are all designed to remove the stress that often comes with owning a second home.

"You do nothing but show up.Duckett explains, “we will do your landscaping, cleaning, grocery shopping…we will even have your steaks on the grill and a candle lit when you arrive. That’s what makes The Pointe awesome. Everything is taken care of.”

It's a level of hospitality more commonly associated with luxury resorts than residential neighborhoods, set right here in North Alabama.

Duckett knows exactly why that matters because he has personally experienced life as a lake house owner. He recalls weekends at his Lake Martin home where precious time was spent clearing sticks from the yard, charging dead boat batteries, and fixing whatever had broken since the last visit. "You spend most of Saturday working or fixing things. Sunday morning you finally think, 'I'm at the lake.' Then it's time to pack up and leave, he says.

Duckett Pointe was designed to eliminate that cycle.

Instead of maintaining a property, residents can spend their weekends kayaking, boating, relaxing by the pool, gathering with friends around the fire pits, or simply enjoying the beauty of Lake Guntersville. "My real excitement about The Pointe is watching people enjoy it. Hopefully I've thought of everything. If I haven't, I'll fix it. But it's going to be a lot of fun to have a group of people who just come and enjoy the property,” Duckett exclaims with a grin.

The first homeowners are already enjoying life at Duckett Pointe and additional homes are currently available. As the neighborhood grows, each phase is carefully planned to preserve the walkability, views, and community atmosphere envisioned from the beginning.

For Duckett, the project is deeply personal. After a career that has included professional bass fishing, business ventures, and numerous real estate developments, he believes this community may ultimately become his proudest accomplishment. “It's going to be a lot of fun to have a group of people that just come and enjoy the property, " he says. If it works like I want it to, I'll be very proud to see those people experience this.”

Duckett Pointe is redefining luxury and reminding us that the real value isn’t in finishes and materials, but in the time spent soaking in the beauty of nature around us, and the people we experience it with.
