The Dallas chapter of NEWH, the international network connecting the community of hospitality and design professionals, held its much-anticipated annual gala, A Night of Design, on October 27, 2022, at the Nasher Sculpture Center. The celebratory event is the organization’s primary fundraising vehicle for scholarships benefiting students in creative and hospitality fields. The 2022 event was a record-setting black-tie affair attended by nearly 250 hospitality design industry professionals and raised more than $75,000 for student scholarships. Since its founding in 1991, the chapter has awarded nearly $1 million in total scholarships.

Dallas’ hospitality design luminaries donned their finest, sipped cocktails (many with vodka provided by Chopin), danced, and celebrated under twinkling lights in the Sculpture Garden. NEWH Fundraising Ambassadors Kellie Sirna, Tiffany Woodson, and Adrian Verdin were recognized, as was Ron McDaniel, recipient of the prestigious Joyce Johnson Award. The year’s Top Interior Design Firms – Studio 11 Design, Gensler Dallas, and LEO A DALY – received awards as well.

Members of NEWH are professionals actively engaged in development, management, operations, architecture, communications, design, distribution, education, manufacturing, production, purchasing and sales to the hospitality, food service, senior living and related industries.

The organization sponsors scholarships and actively promotes the education of students and encourages cooperation and exchange of information within the industry. In addition to disseminating information to the industry through lectures, seminars, trade meetings, news bulletins, and awards for excellence, NEWH also serves the industry, students, and its members.

NEWH Dallas Fundraising Co-Chairs Luis Araujo and Micaela Sheffield coordinated A Night of Design and extend their most sincere gratitude to the gala’s sponsors for their generous support of the industry, of students and of the future of the industry: Smith Brown (diamond sponsor); Pholio Co and CF Kent (platinum sponsors); Paravars, Furniture Atelier, Akula Living, Williams-Sonoma, and Herzog Hospitality (gold sponsors); Tuuci Residential (bar sponsor); and Kaiser Hospitality (valet sponsor).
